K-pop legends BIGBANG sell out the opening leg of their highly anticipated 20th anniversary world tour in just minutes.
BIGBANG Tour Tickets Sell Out—But Where's the New Album?
BIGBANG's comeback has reignited global excitement as tour tickets sell out in minutes, but the new album release date confirmation is still missing.
Highlights
- BIGBANG's anniversary tour sold out within minutes, proving the trio still has tremendous demand nearly two decades after their debut.
- The tour marks the group's long-anticipated return to North America and Europe, ending years of absence from both markets.
- While fans expect new music to accompany the comeback, they are still awaiting an official confirmation.
BIGBANG's long-awaited return to the stage ignited ticket platforms instantly, as they sold out tickets for the opening leg of their 20th anniversary world tour within minutes. This showcases that the K-pop veterans still command stadium-scale demand nearly two decades post-debut.
As per YG Entertainment, tickets for the trio's three-day August residency in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, sold out shortly after going on sale on June 25, 2026, bringing in about 210,000 concurrent users during the booking process. The concert will launch BIGBANG's first group world tour in nine years, kicking off a global run that the agency has termed as the group's largest production to date.
The rapid sellout offers one of the clearest indicators, yet that BIGBANG's comeback extends beyond nostalgia. The itinerary spans 18 cities and 31 shows through February 2027, with performances in stadiums like MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, Stade de France in Paris, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Tokyo Dome, Kyocera Dome Osaka, Taipei Dome, and Kaohsiung National Stadium.
BIGBANG Returns to North America and Europe After 10+ Years
The North American and European dates for BIGBANG’s 2026 anniversary tour carry huge weight, making it the group’s first significant world tour in nearly a decade. The upcoming performances at the Oakland Coliseum (Sept. 5) and MetLife Stadium (Sept. 11) will be their first in North America since 2015 for the MADE World Tour. On the other hand, the London stop will mark BIGBANG's first standalone European concert since the Alive Galaxy Tour in 2012.
Their 2015–16 MADE World Tour was a huge global success, comprising 66 concerts across 13 countries and drawing 1.5 million attendees, according to Yonhap. Whereas, the London concerts drew 24,000 attendees and set a then-record for attendance for a K-pop concert in England, according to YG Entertainment data cited by Korea JoongAng Daily. However, subsequent routing became mostly Asia-centric. The 0.TO.10 Tour (2016–17) and Last Dance Tour (2017) stuck entirely to Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong, with the latter acting as their final public performance before the members went for mandatory military service.
BIGBANG Fans Await Official Album Announcement
BIGBANG’s current lineup which features G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, resumed group activities with a massively watched performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April. According to Yonhap News Agency and The Korea Times, during the performance, G-Dragon addressed the audience by saying that the trio had completed preparations for a new album and would begin a world tour in August.
That comment from G-Dragon raised fans' expectations that the band would release new music before or during the anniversary tour. However, YG Entertainment's subsequent announcements for the Goyang concerts have focused particularly on the tour and have not officially confirmed an album release schedule. Fans are still awaiting any sort of formal confirmation for the group’s comeback album release date, even as their live return has already become one of K-pop's biggest anticipated concert events of the year.
