The BTS World Tour Arirang will soon be reaching Singapore, with loads of fans waiting to get a glimpse of their favorite idols. As the arrival of BTS nears, a massive predatory wave of cybercrime has erupted in the country. According to a report from CNA Lifestyle, a sophisticated BTS concert ticket scam network has already defrauded many desperate fans of at least S$11,000 (~ $8,500 USD).
Reportedly, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) issued a critical warning on Saturday, June 6, after confirming at least 14 unique cases of exploitation since June 1. The sharp spike in scams highlights a broader, troubling trend in concert ticketing targeting high-profile entertainment events.
BTS Singapore Ticket Scam Targets Fans on Social Media
The mechanics of the BTS ticket scam in Singapore rely heavily on direct digital targeting. As per recent incidents, scammers primarily approached victims on social media platforms like X. They provided illicit listings for the highly anticipated BTS Singapore concert, which also plagued Instagram and saturated Carousell.
People looking for BTS concert tickets 2026 seats were first asked to pay immediately via PayNow or by scanning a QR code. This initial PayNow scam was then followed by secondary demands for “administrative fees,” which reportedly did not exist at all. After providing the payment, victims realized that they were defrauded when all communications slowly began to cool, and no tickets materialized.

Such K-pop concert scams are not uncommon; they capitalize on sheer market scarcity. When the first presale opened on June 3, tens of thousands of people instantly appeared in virtual queues in hopes of securing one spot. The BTS National Stadium Singapore is scheduled for four nights, notably, December 17, 19, 20, and 22.
Ticketmaster Warning Issued Over BTS Concert Resale Fraud
Law enforcement is currently working alongside X and Carousell authorities to dismantle fraudulent accounts and remove illegal listings. Furthermore, the public was warned that commercial policies on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and TikTok Shop do not align with original ticketing policies and, therefore, must strictly prohibit such commercial activities.
As for the original Ticketmaster BTS tickets, they are entirely non-transferable and cannot be legally resold. Tickets from Ticketmaster are reportedly never issued via email, and as per the warnings from the relevant stakeholders, anyone holding unverified BTS concert resale tickets will be turned away at the gates without a refund. To combat these threats, police urge fans to utilize the ScamShield app, enable two-factor authentication, and restrict digital banking transaction limits.
