However, other acts in Big Hit Music’s ecosystem are proving their success. Tomorrow X Together (TXT) has cemented its own legacy, with their eighth EP, 7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorn, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. It marks the group’s 13th entry on the chart while maintaining their perfect record. Notably, all eight of their Korean releases have reached the top five. 7th Year: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorn’s lead song, titled Stick With You, currently holds its position at No. 2 on World Digital Song Sales.
Next-Gen Acts and Viral Hits Signal a Broader Shift Toward Longevity Over Peaks
Additionally, rookie group Cortis has also begun its ascent with its pre-release RedRed. The track notably jumped from No. 72 to the top of Apple Music’s South Korea chart in just a few days. On the other hand, the longevity of Golden, from the Netflix hit K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack, remains a rare feat by maintaining its position at No. 9 in its 44th week.
Tame Impala’s Dracula remix featuring Blackpink’s Jennie is also ranking at No. 16, whereas Katseye’s Pinky Up is placed at No. 49. Such results on the chart depict that the industry may recognize peak hits during its best time, but “long-tail” success is the actual way to walk on.
