Crunchyroll To Launch 24/7 Anime Channel With Samsung TV Plus
Crunchyroll and Samsung TV Plus partner to launch an anime channel for a global audience, marking a new era in free, mainstream anime broadcasting.
- Crunchyroll is bringing popular anime through a dedicated 24/7 channel.
- In partnership with Samsung TV Plus, the platform will stream for free with an ad-supported model.
- The Samsung TV Plus channel of Crunchyroll will also air its very own podcast.
Watching anime on Samsung TV Plus has now become easy, as the company has launched its very own 24/7 channel in partnership with Crunchyroll, on Wednesday. The channel on Samsung TV Plus will offer viewers an endless anime content across the company’s ad-supported services. This move strengthens Crunchyroll's anime services on Samsung's free TV channels following the release of its app on Samsung Smart TVs in 2024.
“We’re excited to give fans, and those just discovering anime, a curated, always-on way to experience the stories and characters they love, right from their Samsung Smart TVs,” said Mitchel Berger, Crunchyroll's head of global commerce, in a statement to Variety.
What Anime can you Watch On This Crunchyroll Channel?
Samsung TV Plus will stream top anime titles like Yu Yu Hakusho, Assassination Classroom, Black Clover, and To Your Eternity on the 24/7 Channel, which will also include English-subbed and dubbed content.
The new service will also cater to anime watchers with different genres, themes, and promotional programming blocks that are expected to grow over time. The launch of this anime channel on Samsung TV Plus effectively provides an opportunity for the mainstream audience to watch anime on TV, apart from online streaming platforms.
Apart from the hit anime titles, Crunchyroll will also air a full podcast episode of the anime streaming giant, which is titled “Crunchyroll Presents: The Anime Effect.” Variety reports that this podcast can be best described as “a gateway for the anime-curious to enter the wide world of the medium."
India Already Has Its Anime TV Channel
In India, on the TV front, Dish TV launched the channel "Crunchyroll Anime Top Active" in August 2025. It offers anime in Hindi and Tamil languages, featuring popular anime series like Naruto, Obocchama-Kun, and KochiKame, and can be subscribed to for a nominal fee.
Not only that, but the anime streaming giant had also introduced its "Crunchyroll Anime Booth," a 24-hour, ad-free anime TV channel available exclusively on Airtel Digital TV. Launched in 2024, it broadcasts popular anime series like Naruto Shippuden, Black Clover, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Demon Slayer. The content is, however, provided by Sony YAY! in partnership with Culver Max Entertainment Private Limited (CMEPL), with the initial launch language of the content being Hindi.
Crunchyroll has shown remarkable growth in recent years. As per market analysis, its streaming platform has more than tripled in four years, growing from 5 million paid subscribers in August 2021 to over 17 million by May 2025. Parrot Analytics reports that Crunchyroll and Netflix together could nearly hold 80% of the anime streaming market by 2030, as the sector increases steadily overseas.
The Crunchyroll Channel on Samsung TV Plus marks anime's transition to mainstream television. Crunchyroll is rethinking how people watch anime around the world and is currently planning its next phase of growth. The streaming platform is establishing local alliances in various areas, such as India, where language and culture differ from region to region.
