Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Ends Future Saga With Chapter 4

Nearly a decade after its launch, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has reached its conclusion with its final DLC, Future Saga Chapter 4, released on July 8. Bandai Namco marked the moment with a tribute to franchise creator Akira Toriyama, releasing a key art by recreating the last cover of the original Dragon Ball Z manga.

The tribute artwork features the Xenoverse cast alongside Goku in a similar composition, mirroring Toriyama’s celebrated cover. The Dragon Ball Z cover also featured characters waving ‘goodbye’ to fans to commemorate the manga’s ending. 

Future Saga Chapter 4 has a total of eight screen illustrations, unlocked after completing the game narrative. Players must win in the newly added Ultra Time Patrol Battles game mode to unlock these.

Bandai Namco Entertainment first announced the Xenoverse DLC during its Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event in April 2026. However, the end of Xenoverse 2 also comes with the anticipation for Xenoverse 3, scheduled to release in 2027.

What Does Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Future Saga Chapter 4 Add to the Game? 

Future Saga Chapter 4 concludes Fu’s multiverse storyline, bringing together warriors from multiple timelines for the final battle against escalating threats that distort Dragon Ball history. The chapter introduces new playable characters, Parallel Quests, skills, costumes, and Super Souls alongside additional story missions.

The update, version 1.52 on consoles and 1.005 on PC, introduces the two new playable characters, Goku in Ultra Supervillain Quelled form, and the Supreme Kai of Time (Chronoa) in her own Ultra Supervillain transformation.

Additionally, Xenoverse 2’s Future Saga Chapter 4 brings two Parallel Quests featuring Dragon Ball's “what-if” timeline deviation stories. The quests either pit classic character variants against or together with the player.

The DLC also introduces four additional moves and four Super Souls. The final trailer emphasizes the scale of the concluding conflict, featuring Ultra Instinct Goku, Gohan Beast, Broly, Jiren, and other fan-favorite fighters.

With the last chapter of Future Saga, the successful run of Xenoverse 2, often considered one of the best anime video games, comes to an end. Following its release in November 2016, the game has topped 10M copies shipped worldwide by May 2023.
