India's IGPDA Unveils GamingCon Bharat 2025
GamingCon Bharat 2025 in Mumbai will feature esports, indie games, cosplay, and industry sessions, uniting developers, fans, and investors across India.
India's gaming industry is attempting to raise its profile with a national convention that will bring together developers, investors and players as the sector seeks to establish itself alongside the country's more mature entertainment industries.
The Indian Game Publishers and Developers Association will hold GamingCon Bharat 2025 on Nov. 29-30 at the NESCO Bombay Exhibition Centre. The event, organized with IDEX Events, anticipates over 10,000 attendees and more than 100 exhibitors across eight zones featuring esports tournaments, developer showcases and industry panels.
The trade association, whose members include executives from Nazara Technologies, Reliance Games and nCore Games, has positioned the event as a platform for homegrown intellectual property in a market long dominated by foreign titles and mobile gaming adaptations.
GamingCon Seeks to Elevate Indian Game Developers
The consumer portion of the event will feature esports competitions for Indian-developed titles including FAU-G: Domination and Indus Battle Royale, alongside established games like BGMI and Valorant. A developer showcase will highlight Indian studios and titles such as "Mukti," "Age of Bhaarat" and "World Cricket Championship," alongside popular mobile games including "Ludo King."
A concurrent industry conference will address artificial intelligence in game development, cloud gaming infrastructure, and India's Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act. This conference will also include appearances by government officials and policymakers.
"For the first time, India has a platform of this magnitude to celebrate its own IPs and showcase them to the world," said Nitesh Mittersain, chief executive of Nazara Technologies and a founding member of the trade group.
Industry executives characterized the convention as essential for attracting investment and mentorship opportunities. Vishal Gondal, founder of nCore Games, described it as "the gathering point where the ecosystem will come together to imagine, build, and scale India's presence in the global gaming industry."
India's gaming market has attracted some investment in recent years but remains significantly smaller than sectors such as film and technology services. The convention represents the industry's attempt to consolidate its fragmented ecosystem and demonstrate commercial viability to international publishers and venture capital firms.
