J-Hope turns 32 With 350 Million KRW in Donations
BTS member's cumulative giving crosses 1 billion KRW, earning him the 14th spot in ChildFund Korea's top donor tier
- J-Hope donated ₩350 million (~ $2,41,803.35 USD) to healthcare, education, and animal welfare on the occasion of his birthday.
- The majority of the funding will go toward improving pediatric care in Seoul and providing scholarships in his birthplace Gwangju.
- His philanthropic work throughout the years is establishing a legacy beyond music and overall entertainment.
BTS member J-Hope donated 350 million KRW (approximately $242,000) on his 32nd birthday, February 18, directing funds to children's healthcare, education, and animal welfare — and pushing his lifetime contributions to ChildFund Korea past the 1 billion KRW threshold that qualifies him for the organization's Green Noble Trinity Club.
The largest portion, 200 million KRW ($138,000), went to Seoul Asan Medical Center's children's hospital development fund. The hospital confirmed the donation will be used to expand pediatric and adolescent treatment facilities, fund home-based care for critically ill children, and sustain psychological healing programs for young patients and their families. J-Hope has now donated 500 million KRW to the hospital in total, having contributed 100 million KRW in 2022 and 200 million KRW on his birthday in 2025.
A further 100 million KRW ($69,000) went to ChildFund Korea — known locally as Green Umbrella — as scholarships for students at Gwangju International High School, J-Hope's alma mater, and Jeonnam Girls' Commercial High School, both in his hometown region.
J-Hope's 1 billion KRW giving record: from Gwangju scholarships to Seoul pediatric care
J-Hope has supported ChildFund Korea since 2018, funding medical expenses for seriously ill children and assisting families affected by COVID-19, and separately funded scholarships at both schools between 2019 and 2023. With this birthday donation, he becomes the 14th member of the Green Noble Trinity Club, reserved for donors whose cumulative contributions to the organization exceed 1 billion KRW.
The remaining 50 million KRW ($34,500) went to animal welfare organizations Animal Rescue 119 and My Love Badugi with Companion Animals, combining J-Hope's personal funds with proceeds from his HUMAN MADE collaboration auction, "HUMAN HOPE: A JOOPITER Special."
Speaking through BigHit Music, J-Hope said he wanted to "give at least a small bit of help to children receiving treatment, students pursuing their dreams, and animals in need," crediting ARMY — the BTS fan base — for making the giving possible. To Asan Medical Center separately, he said: "I sincerely hope children can overcome their pain and dream bright dreams."
The donations arrive as J-Hope prepares for BTS's first world tour in four years. The group's 2026–2027 tour, announced in January, opens April 9 at Goyang Sports Complex in South Korea and spans 82 shows across 34 cities.
