Netflix Expands KPop Demon Hunters IP With Comic Box Set
New publishing push adds screen comics, coloring book, and children’s title as Netflix deepens franchise monetization beyond streaming.

- The publishing push reflects Netflix’s broader media mix strategy, keeping the IP active ahead in the absence of new major updates.
Netflix is expanding the commercial footprint of KPop Demon Hunters with publishing, led by KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set, a two-volume graphic adaptation arriving on Nov 3, 2026. The announcement comes as the animated hit completed 617M views, sustaining engagement almost one year after its initial release.
The company described the screen comic as a “full-color graphic novel experience” spanning more than 700 pages. Apart from Screen Comic, the boxed set will be accompanied by two additional releases.

The first product to arrive is KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Deluxe Coloring Book from July 14, intended towards both adult and younger audience. Next is The Art of KPop Demon Hunters: Platinum Edition, available from Sep 8. The book compiles more than “500 pieces of concept art, in-progress stills, and final designs, plus creator commentary.”
Print Becomes KPop Demon Hunters Franchise’s Next Monetization Layer
KPop Demon Hunters did not just become a streaming phenomenon; the title track Golden surpassed 1B YouTube views, as of January 2026, and generated substantial hype through merchandising deals.
After successful McDonald’s, Ramyun, and streetwear collabs, the publishing push represents Netflix’s next commercial bet on the KPop Demon Hunters franchise. The most substantial of them is this release of KPop Demon Hunters: The Official Screen Comic Boxed Set. It features two volumes that adapt the film's screenplay into graphic novel form.
The company has positioned it as a “collector’s piece,’ with “holographic foil slipcase, two paperback volumes with French flaps, and foil-stamped covers.” The Official Deluxe Coloring Book is designed as 40 single-sided illustrations on perforated paper, covering characters and scenes across the film featuring HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys.
Nucleus Studios, in collaboration with the film's creative team, is creating The Art of KPop Demon Hunters: Platinum Edition. Author Tracey Miller-Zarneke is writing the book, offering pre-production designs and exclusive insights from production staff.
The KPop Demon Hunters publishing initiative also reflects Netflix’s evolving marketing and merchandising strategy. The company's licensing division generated an estimated $2.1B in 2025 in merchandising, as per DataIntelo.
To broaden the scope, Netflix has recently talked about a ‘media mix strategy’ to diversify its original animated IPs. With the KPop Demon Hunters sequel confirmed by Netflix and the recent award season getting over, the publishing slate functions as both a revenue stream and a visibility maintenance tool in the absence of other major IP-related updates.
