Netflix Reveals Ramparts of Ice Season 2 Release Timeline

The 2026 Fall anime season is starting with the Spring hit anime Ramparts of Ice’s season 2. The new season premieres on Oct 1 on TBS and 27 affiliated channels in Japan.

Netflix confirmed the second season of The Ramparts of Ice on July 3, a day after the anime’s season 1 finale aired in Japan. Season 1 premiered on April 2 and streamed 14 weekly episodes globally on Netflix till July 2.

Ramparts of Ice Season 2 Plot and Production So Far

The season 1 finale, titled Bombshell, had a cliffhanger ending: an unproductive conversation between Yota and Miki, leaving the audience baffled about the state of their relationship. The anime follows four high schoolers, Koyuki, Minato, Miki, and Yota, as they try to understand their connections with each other.

Kocha Agasawa’s coming-of-age romance blends teenage romance tropes with jealousy, social insecurity, and identity crises of the characters, offering an intriguing narrative. The Ramparts of Ice manga has already finished publication with 14 completed volumes before the anime premiered in April.

Having a complete source material at hand might have prompted the early season renewal. Mankyu returns to direct the season at Studio KAI, with Yasuhiro Nakanishi handling series scripts.

The Ramparts of Ice season 2’s cast and character list remain the same with no new character reveal, as of writing. No series trailer has been premiered yet; however, the announcement came with a teaser visual featuring the four main characters.

Where to Watch Ramparts of Ice Season 2?

The Ramparts of Ice is a Netflix-exclusive anime, and the streamer has already confirmed the second season run. However, the streaming date is yet to be confirmed.

The first season dropped on Netflix a day after its Japan premiere on April 2, 11:56 pm JST (7:26 PM IST). Netflix’s season 2 announcement post only stated “The Ramparts of Ice Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Netflix this October!”

Ramparts of Ice season 2’s October premiere places the anime alongside prominent returning titles on Netflix’s fall anime calendar. In October, Netflix debuts Blue Box season 2 and the highly anticipated Apothecary Diaries season 3. Returning sequel Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is also coming on the streamer four years after Edgerunners’ breakout debut in 2022.
