Why Do These Rankings Matter?

At Anime Expo 2025, Netflix announced that more than half of its subscribers watch anime. With the platform already exceeding 300M members worldwide which suggests that around 150M viewers are engaging with anime content.

This growth follows years of purposeful investment in global licensing and original productions, which have elevated anime from a niche category on the platform. Titles ranging from action-packed franchises to character-driven comedies have regularly attracted large viewers.

By late 2025, such trends have solidified anime as Netflix's primary engagement driver, highlighting a catalog approach that combines legacy IP, serialized storytelling, and culturally relevant originals.
