Saturn Awards 2026: Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Claims Award

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle became the Best International Animated Film at the Saturn Awards 2026. The honor was presented during the 53rd ceremony organized by the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror Films. 

The recognition went to the first movie in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle trilogy.

The film competed against several international animated titles. These included Attack on Titan the Movie: The Last Attack, The Colors Within, and Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. Other nominees in the category were China’s Ne Zha 2 and the international co-production Stitch Head. The Demon Slayer Infinity Castle's first movie award highlights the franchise’s continued presence in global genre award circuits.

Saturn Awards 2026: Demon Slayer’s Production Team and Story Background

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime adaptation is directed by Haruo Sotozaki at anime studio ufotable. Akira Matsushima serves as chief animation director and character designer, while Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina composed the music for the series.

Crunchyroll streams the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba television anime along with the Mugen Train movie. The platform also offers the Hashira Training Arc series in both subtitled and dubbed formats.

The story is set in Japan’s Taisho period and follows Tanjiro Kamado, a charcoal seller who discovers that demons have killed his family. His younger sister, Nezuko, survives the attack but is transformed into a demon. In response, Tanjiro becomes a demon slayer in an effort to restore her humanity and defeat the demon responsible for the tragedy.

Elsewhere at the Saturn Awards 2026, Solo Leveling season 2 – Arise from the Shadow was nominated for Best Animated Television Series or Event. However, the award went to Predator: Killer of Killers.
