Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2 Sets July Premiere

Skeleton Knight in Another World will return to television next month, with the anime’s season 2 premiering on July 4 in Japan. The fantasy isekai series, based on Ennki Hakari’s light novels and Akira Sawano’s manga adaptation, is returning more than four years after its season 1 premiered.

The launch date announcement combined preview stills from Skeleton Knight in Another World season 2 episode 1. The anime got recognized for its game-based setting during its first run. However, the second season comes with significant production shifts.

For the second season, Aura Studio takes over animation duties from Studio KAI and HORNETS, which produced Skeleton Knight in Another World season 1. Director Katsumi Ono, who has worked on Yu-Gi-Oh! and Girly Air franchises, returns to the production, joined by character designer Toru Imanishi.

In another change, scriptwriter Takeshi Kikuchi was replaced by Toshizo Nemoto, known for composing That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime seasons 3 and 4.

Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2: Plot and Cast

The franchise centers around Arc, a gamer who wakes up inside his MMO as a fully armored skeletal knight. Skeleton Knight in Another World depicts his journey in the game world. Elven warrior Ariane and fox companion Ponta join Arc in his exploration.

Skeleton Knight in Another World season 2 resumes Arc’s journey after the events of the first season, which concluded with the liberation of enslaved elves and the exposure of a human trafficking operation. Season 2 brings six new voice cast members, increasing the narrative stake.

New cast members confirmed for the season include Kensho Ono as Sasuke, Toshihiko Seki as Villiers Fim, Junichi Suwabe as Thanatos, and Kenji Akabane as Palurumo. Apart from them, Tomoaki Maeno (Arc), Ai Fairouz (Ariane), and Nene Hieda (Ponta) will reprise their roles.

Where to Watch Skeleton Knight in Another World Season 2

Crunchyroll has confirmed that the platform will stream the anime, beginning with its Japan premiere on July 4 at 20:30 JST. The platform has streaming rights for Skeleton Knight in Another World season 2 across Europe, North America, South America, Central America, Africa, the Middle East, CIS, India, and Oceania. 

Following the streaming premiere, the traditional broadcast will start from July 6 on AT-X at 20:00 JST, according to the announcement. TOKYO MX and BS11 will start broadcasting on July 9.

The July launch positions Skeleton Knight in Another World within a crowded Summer 2026 anime lineup alongside popular isekais like Mushoku Tensei season 3 and Re:Zero season 4. The anime also had a four-year gap between seasons. However, a rebuilt production team and expanded cast may recapture the audience upon release.
