Pre-registration has opened for The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles, a new browser-based game adapting The Apothecary Diaries anime narrative. Publisher CTW recently launched a teaser trailer providing a detailed look at the gameplay on May 22, 2026.
The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles is a simulation-based game where players can train the franchise protagonist, Maomao, and take part in her investigation journey. The game will support free-play across smartphones, tablets, and PCs using CTW’s G123 gaming platform, without requiring downloads.
CTW paired three in-game rewards with pre-registration milestones. The Apothecary Diaries game pre-registration, which began in July 2025, has already surpassed 100K sign-ups, clearing two milestone rewards.
After 50K sign-ups, players unlock 50 draw tickets, and at 100K, they receive 20 tea items. The third milestone, unlocking character Xiaolan, requires a total of 200K registrations. Interested players can pre-register via official official social media, or directly through the G123 website.
Inside The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles Teaser
CTW’s teaser trailer showcases Maomao, Jinshi, and gameplay visuals, drawn from the original anime. In the game, Maomao searches through recreated palace streets and gardens, solving mysteries and crafting medicines.
The Apothecary Diaries game will also unlock exclusive in-game illustrations after deepening bonds with other characters like Concubine Gyokuyou, Xiaolan, and Jinshi. In the game, Aoi Yūki voices Maomao and Takeo Ōtsuka, Jinshi.
Over 35 characters from The Apothecary Diaries anime appear in the game, suggesting a roster-driven progression structure. The developer has positioned the game as an original-story spin-off, set in the anime's world rather than a direct retelling.
The Apothecary Diaries: Palace Chronicles game marks the latest expansion for The Apothecary Diaries franchise, as it awaits the third season release in October. Based on original light novels by Natsu Hyuga, the franchise has surpassed 45M copies in global sales.
The Palace Chronicles game could broaden the franchise’s international reach at a time when anime-based games are becoming a significant extension strategy for publishers and rights holders alike. Naruto and Dragon Ball-based games have long enjoyed popularity and driven revenue with this strategy.
