However, this upcoming $1,699 release won't be a game expansion; it's a breathtaking physical collectible. Capcom and renowned Japanese manufacturer Prime 1 Studio have unveiled an ultra-premium, 1/4-scale polystone diorama. The massive 3D setpiece depicts special agent Leon S. Kennedy cornered in a tense, chaotic battle against a Ganado and the infamous Chainsaw Villager. With the waitlist now officially open, the manufacturer expects the centerpiece to ship to collectors worldwide between September and December 2026.
Targeted firmly at serious collectors rather than casual players, this massive display piece demands significant space. The diorama measures approximately 30 inches in height, 27.5 inches in width, and 20.4 inches in depth, weighing a hefty 57 pounds. The meticulously crafted scene surrounds Leon, wearing his iconic leather bomber jacket, which makes a cameo in one of the Separate Ways DLC’s Merchant requests, with incredibly faithful in-game details.
A closer look reveals a dense assortment of recognizable items tucked into the design, including a First Aid Spray can, a well-known Blue Medallion, shotgun and handgun ammunition boxes, a Merchant request note, and an egg-laying chicken. The ominous emblem of the Los Iluminados cult also adorns the back of the base, perfectly capturing the clash of life and death in a desolate European village.
To justify the premium price tag, the diorama comes in two editions featuring multiple swappable accessories that allow fans to customize the dynamic showdown. The Standard bundle includes two interchangeable heads for Leon, offering the choice between closed- and open-mouth expressions. Buyers will also receive alternate arms holding two classic remake weapons: Leon’s nostalgic starter SG-09 R handgun and the Combat Knife, which was introduced in the remake.

For collectors seeking the ultimate package, a Bonus Edition includes an exclusive right-hand holding the Fighting Knife, the weapon Leon acquires after defeating his former mentor, Jack Krauser. Alternatively, Prime 1 Studio is planning a cheaper $1,000 trimmed-down version that completely removes the Chainsaw Villager and the Ganado, leaving Leon to stand solo on the display stand, as per GameRant.
At $1,699, the complete diorama costs significantly more than the video game it honors, which is currently available on Steam for $39.99, or $49.99 for the comprehensive Gold Edition. Since its launch in March 2023, the remake of Resident Evil 4 has received several official releases, including the $9.99 Separate Ways DLC and a free update adding The Mercenaries mode. Players even recently received an option to partner up and survive Las Plagas with a friend through co-op multiplayer.
