Dream11 has officially completed its transition from a fantasy sports service to a global sports engagement platform, ending prize-based contests as part of the change. The company is now bringing content, live streaming, scores, statistics, commentary, fan experiences, and social contests together across multiple sports.
Dream11 Builds a New Sports Engagement Model
The platform will use AI to tailor what users see based on their preferred sports, leagues, teams, and players. Fans can watch live matches, catch up on recent races, explore statistics, book experiences such as Grand Slam events, and compete with friends.
Vaibhav Kokal, CEO of Dream11, stated that its 300M users are at the center of an AI-first platform “made in India, for the world." The company also added that the strategy reflects its “Make Sports Better” vision and aims to build an interconnected global sports community.
The development follows Dream11’s earlier withdrawal from paid contests amid India’s real-money gaming (RMG) crackdown. The company had stopped prize-based gameplay, begun refunding active subscription fees, and retained free contests while expanding its focus on sports content and social interaction.
The change also follows the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act (PROGA), 2025, which prohibits online money games. With its latest announcement, Dream11 is moving beyond the model that previously defined its business and targeting a wider audience through a single multi-sport destination.
