Highlights

  • Dubai launches a Gaming Committee to grow the local games industry and attract global talent by 2033.
  • The UAE hosts over 350 game companies, with most headquartered in Dubai under the DPG33 initiative.
  • DMCC’s gaming ecosystem exceeds 100 companies, supporting studios through licensing, infrastructure, and services.

Dubai has established a new Gaming Committee as part of its long-term plan to grow the local games industry and position the UAE as a top global gaming hub by 2033. The committee is tasked with supporting industry growth through strategic partnerships, improved services, and targeted initiatives for developers, investors, and creators.

The Gaming Committee will focus on training, professional development, and broader ecosystem support, with the aim of attracting international talent and creating new investment opportunities.

In a statement, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) said the move aligns with national efforts to strengthen the games sector’s contribution to the economy and expand Dubai’s role as a global media and digital hub.

Dubai Gaming Committee and UAE Gaming Hub Strategy

The announcement builds on momentum from the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 (DPG33). Earlier in 2025, the program revealed that the UAE is now home to more than 350 game companies, including around 260 focused on development.

More than 60 new game companies have been established, with 12% classified as large global firms. The Dubai Future Foundation said that since the launch of DPG33 in 2023, 67% of gaming companies in the country have been headquartered in Dubai.

Government leaders have positioned gaming as a strategic growth sector, with Dubai Economic Development Corporation CEO Hadi Badri and Dubai Chambers digital operations director Abdulla AlGaoud outlining policy support at the Dubai GameExpo Summit 2024.

Alongside the committee, Dubai Multi Commodities Centre continues to promote its gaming ecosystem, offering gaming and esports licenses and infrastructure such as the DMCC Gaming Center, and setup support. DMCC says more than 100 gaming businesses, including Türkiye-based Zuuks Games, have joined the center.

The committee formalizes Dubai’s effort to scale its games sector by aligning policy support, infrastructure, and ecosystem services with the UAE’s 2033 global hub target.
