Highlights

  • GeForce NOW cloud gaming was showcased at Mumbai, marking NVIDIA’s push into India’s cloud gaming market.
  • The service streams 4,500+ titles via RTX 5080 SuperPODS.
  • Low-latency streaming (LLS) will be unavailable at the time of India launch.

NVIDIA has officially begun introducing its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service to India, with an exclusive showcase of the platform at a media preview event in Mumbai on Feb 6, 2026. The event provided journalists and professionals with the opportunity to test the technology ahead of its public rollout.

The event marks a significant milestone for cloud gaming adoption in the country’s large and fast-growing digital entertainment market. At the event, NVIDIA South Asia head of consumer marketing, Pawan Awasthi, described the rationale behind the India launch. Asia Pacific South region’s technical product marketing manager, John Gillooly, also took the stage and gave a recap of the service while highlighting distribution plans.

How GeForce NOW India Launch can Revolutionize Gaming

GeForce NOW allows users to stream PC games that they own from platforms like Steam and Epic Games Store on a range of devices. Instead of running games locally, the processing is handled on remote servers owned by NVIDIA.

The model is designed to democratize access to graphically demanding titles without the need for dedicated consoles or gaming rigs. NVIDIA also confirmed that it will deploy RTX 5080 SuperPODS in India, ensuring Indian gamers receive its latest technology.

GeForce NOW India Launch will also bring new technologies such as SDR10, HDR10, and YUV 4:4:4 Croma through its Cinematic Quality Streaming (CQS). It will also include features such as Cloud G-sync and Install-to-Play. The service supports up to 100 Mbps streaming for improved clarity, if the connection can handle it.

The Indian server currently supports 4500+ titles with "more than 100 free-to-play" and "over 180 Xbox Game Pass titles" games. The game library gets new updates every Thursday.

NVIDIA did not specify a launch date for India. The service was launched in 2017 and was planned for a relaunch in 2025, but that was delayed twice.

Early Performance of GeForce NOW Cloud Gaming

Journalists at the Mumbai event reported a generally promising performance. At the demonstration stations, the service was tested on a range of devices, including Steam Deck, Lenovo Legion Go, Android devices, Apple devices (iPhone, MacBook Air, and iPad Pro), entry-level TV, high-end gaming PC, and Chromebooks.

The Times of India (TOI) review highlights that games such as ARC Raiders, Cyberpunk 2077, Black Myth: Wukong, and Hogwarts Legacy ran smoothly across a range of devices. However, a notable limitation for the India launch is the absence of Low-Latency Streaming (LLS) technology.

Company representatives said LLS requires L4S (Low Latency, Low Loss, and Scalable Throughput) Network protocol, which needs infrastructure readiness in India’s internet distribution sector.

Gillooly also emphasized in his statement to TOI that the performance would ultimately depend on the internet connection. He further highlighted that the GeForce NOW launch will go through a beta phase before the general public release, when NVIDIA aims to understand how the service performs throughout the country.
