The Busan Asiad Main Stadium will become the epicenter of the K-pop industry this weekend as BTS will return to the venue for the first time since their military hiatus. The septet will launch the Busan leg of its ARIRANG World Tour on June 12, 2026, which is expected to draw in a total audience of 110,000 across two sold-out nights.
The Busan homecoming also marks BTS’ first performance in about four years, including their October 2022 Yet to Come concert supporting Busan's 2030 World Expo bid. For BTS, Busan is a vital hub for generating a massive global footprint, since it's also the hometown of Jimin and Jungkook.
Additionally, the projected attendance numbers cited by The Korea Times reveal that the ARIRANG concerts can yield high-end economic impact in the region, boosted by fan-tourism. Notably, in Q1 2026, the port city had already experienced a spike in inbound visitors, alongside a busy air and water network.
BTS ARIRANG World Tour Builds Global Momentum
BTS initiated their ARIRANG World Tour in April with three dates at Goyang Stadium, before kicking off their international schedule. Notably, stops in Tokyo, Tampa, El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford, and Las Vegas brought in about 840,000 fans across 15 shows alone, indicating that momentum is designed to last. With full tour runs through March next year, BTS will perform in 86 shows covering 34 cities, Madrid being the next on the list for a two-night residency on June 26–27.
BTS Busan 13th Anniversary Concert to Livestream in Cinemas Across 80 Countries
For the millions unable to see the band in the stadium in Busan, the concert on June 13th will be shown live globally in about 3,800 movie theaters across more than 80 countries. The initiative is taken as the date coincides with the group's 13th debut anniversary, thereby making the event more special. In South Korea, major multiplex chains CGV, Lotte Cinema, and Megabox will anchor the screenings, while in India, one can view them on PVR Inox screens across major cities in the country.
BTS The City Busan Turns the City Into a Fan Festival
Locally in Busan, the BTS-related activities will extend beyond the stadium. Through June 21, a city-wide cultural project titled BTS The City Arirang Busan will provide fans with BTS-themed immersive events, alongside a drone lighting show over the Gwangan Bridge and a lighting installation on the roof of the Busan Cinema Center. With such a highly coordinated economic and cultural takeover of South Korea's secondary metropolitan market, the septet is effectively redefining the structural scale of live entertainment in home and beyond.
