BTS has set a new benchmark as the music video for their 2020 single Dynamite surpassed 2.1 billion views on YouTube. The group's agency, BigHit Music, announced the milestone on June 24, 2025 (Wednesday), and with over 2B views, Dynamite is the first K-pop music video to reach this specific threshold.
Since hitting 2B views in September 2025, the video gained an additional 100Mviews over nine months to attain its current 2.1B milestone, solidifying its status as one of the highest-viewed music videos in the South Korean industry.
Dynamite's Record-Breaking Streaming Run
Released in August 2020, Dynamite, is the group's first English-language single; the upbeat disco-pop track acted as an important tool for global crossover. It instantly disrupted digital platform metrics by drawing more than 3M concurrent viewers at its YouTube Premiere. These metrics bolstered Dynamite to secure a Guinness World Record, following which the song gained 101.1M views in its first 24 hours.
The crossing of the 100M viewership mark set a then-record for the biggest one-day debut in YouTube history. Beyond video metrics, Dynamite had already crossed the 2B stream mark on Spotify.
Billboard Hot 100 Success and Grammy Milestones
Dynamite became the first song by a K-pop act to seize the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, where it held on for a total of three weeks. Its subsequent 32-week run on the chart stands as the longest duration for any Korean artist to have achieved. This sustained commercial performance yielded the group’s first Grammy nomination in 2021 for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Simultaneously, it also yielded other industry accolades, including Best Song at the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards and Top Selling Song at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. As Dynamite continues to draw massive audiences, it proves that BTS’s music can easily outlast the typical pop cycle.
