Bushiroad has confirmed that Ghost Meets Gal!, a spin-off manga set in the Cardfight!! The Vanguard universe is being adapted into an anime. The announcement came during the franchise’s latest presentation on July 23, accompanied by a teaser visual and a short promotional video.
Vanguard Ghost Meets Gal! anime series will air as a mini anime, starting Sep 5, 2026 on several broadcasting networks, including TV Aichi and TV Tokyo’s six stations. Each episode is reported to be 2 minutes long, pairing a 90-second main episode with a 30-second theme song segment.
The adaptation comes from artist Kaeru DX’s spin-off manga that has been serialized on the official Vanguard X account. It follows dual protagonists Rubina, from the game’s Dark States clan, and Santi, from the Dragon Empire clan, as the two pursue becoming idols in Lyrical Monasterio.
Ghost Meets Gal! Anime Production Details
The Ghost Meets Gal! adaptation lands during Vanguard’s 15th-anniversary year. Animation studio AtoriE is handling production. The virtual girl-band from BanG Dream! franchise, Mugendai MewType, sings the theme song, Nikoichi Mirai. However, Bushiroad did not name a director or writer for the project in its announcement.
The Bushiroad TCG Strategy Presentation 2026 also announced the voice cast for the leads. Karin Kagami will voice Rubina, with Yuka Nishio taking on the role of Santi. Other characters or cast members were not introduced as of writing.
Ghost Meets Gal! anime reveal coincided with the key visual and theme song reveal for the upcoming Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez: Destiny Star Wars Arc adaptation. Vanguard Divinez will get an early theatrical run on October 2.
