Highlights

  • Detective Conan Episode Selection Vol. 3, FBI Intervention debuts on Netflix and Crunchyroll.
  • The FBI-focused arc expands the Black Organization storyline, introducing new characters.
  • With the third curated Detective Conan episode volume, TMS Entertainment continues its staggered licensing strategy across the U.S. market.

TMS Entertainment released Detective Conan Episode Selection Vol. 3 FBI Intervention on Netflix and Crunchyroll on May 1, bringing a new set of episodes from the long-running franchise to U.S. audiences. The volume comprises 12 episodes.

The FBI Intervention arc joins two prior volumes, Conan vs. The Black Organization and Rivals of the Great Detective, currently available on Crunchyroll and Netflix. TMS is introducing a new English dub from Studio Nano, for the FBI Intervention rollout, along with the standard Japanese audio-English subtitle version.

The Detective Conan Episode Selection Vol. 3 centers on the FBI's parallel inspection into the Black Organization, the same criminal syndicate that protagonist Conan Edogawa has been investigating. The arc will introduce new characters and prompt Conan to rethink his friends and enemies.

Staggered Distribution of Detective Conan

Detective Conan (in Japan) or Case Closed is one of the longest-running entertainment properties that has spanned across anime series, feature films, live-action, spinoffs, and games. Detective Conan anime series, based on Gōshō Aoyama’s manga of the same name, which began streaming in December 1996, has over 1200 episodes, making it the longest-running anime series.

However, all episodes of the Detective Conan anime have never been available throughout the international markets. TMS initiated a staggered licensing strategy in mid-2025 with specially curated episode volumes for the U.S. market with the Conan vs. The Black Organization arc.

The curated-volume model bypasses the logistical challenge of licensing the whole episode catalog, while introducing selected narrative arcs to new viewers without overloading them. TMS has also stated that additional Detective Conan announcements are forthcoming in May.
