Goku Faces the God of Destruction After Frieza’s Defeat
The story takes place several years after the battle against Majin Buu, when Earth has regained a period of peace. Beerus, the God of Destruction, awakens from a long sleep, while even the Kai and Supreme Kai fear his ability to destroy planets.
After hearing about a Saiyan who defeated Frieza, Beerus seeks out Goku. His arrival puts Earth in danger and leads to a cosmic conflict between the God of Destruction, Goku, and his allies.
The Creative Team Behind Dragon Ball Super: Beerus
Toriyama is credited with the original work, story, and character design.
Matsuto Seya handles composition and direction arrangement, with Tadayoshi Yamamuro serving as animation character designer and general animation director. Likewise, Eiichi Nishimura is responsible for editing, Yōsuke Motoki for compositing direction, and Norihito Sumitomo for music. Masako Nozawa voices Son Goku, while Kōichi Yamadera plays Beerus.
A prominent Japanese utaite rocker, MEGATERA・ZERO, will perform the opening theme ONOGAMI, whereas VK Blanka, a renowned Japanese singer and composer, performs the ending theme Kan Peki No Peki.
The update gives a familiar storyline a refreshed presentation, using new visual work while keeping Toriyama’s original story and character designs at its core.
