GKIDS and Fathom Entertainment have announced Studio Ghibli Fest 2026, a seven-film theatrical rollout starting from June 13 with Ponyo and closing in October with Spirited Away. The event will run across the U.S. theaters, with tickets currently available through the GKIDS website.
Each of the seven films will be presented in both original Japanese with English subtitles and English-dubbed versions. The 2026 lineup draws heavily on these movies’ milestone anniversaries.
Goro Miyazaki's feature directorial debut, Tales from Earthsea, joins the Ghibli Fest program for the first time, marking its 20th anniversary. Only Yesterday celebrates its 35th, while Castle in the Sky celebrates its 40th, and the Oscar-winning Spirited Away, its 25th. Princess Mononoke returns in a newly 4K-remastered version for the Studio Ghibli Fest 2026.
Studio Ghibli Fest 2026: Full Lineup and Schedule
GKIDS has produced the annual Ghibli Fest since 2017 as a nationwide theatrical program running across the country. The rollout is intentional, capitalizing on Studio Ghibli’s prestigious catalogue by reintroducing it in the theatre and attracting new audiences.
For the 2026 edition, most Ghibli Fest screenings run for five days, Saturday through Wednesday, except Tales from Earthsea and Only Yesterday, which share an August weekend window.
