MAPPA revealed a new teaser trailer for Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc and announced the franchise’s first mobile game during its 15th anniversary livestream on June 19. The reveals also included a MAPPA animated opening movie for the game, featuring key characters including Denji, Aki, and Power.
The event offered the first substantial look at the anime’s next storyline following 2025’s breakout film Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc. Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc, which adapts the International Assassin Arc from the manga and follows after the Reze-incident, was first announced in December 2025 at the Jump Festa 2026.
The reveals closed a broader presentation marking 15 years since MAPPA’s 2011 founding. The event covered updates from several of MAPPA’s flagship properties, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan, and Dorohedoro.
Chainsaw Man Assassins Arc Teaser Previews New Global Threats
The International Assassins Arc is the sixth arc of the manga’s Public Safety Saga, consisting of chapters 53 to 70. The arc centers on protagonist Denji, as he becomes a valuable target of assassins around the world, for having Chainsaw Devil’s heart.
The second promotional video provides a clear look at several new characters who will shape the narrative of the Assassins Arc. Among the overseas assassins the PV featured were Quanxi, known as the first devil-hunter, and her four girlfriends. It also gave a look at the American assassin trio, consisting of three brothers: the unnamed elder sibling, Joey, and Aldo.
The arc carries a specific weight, shifting the casual devil-hunting storyline into large-scale conspiracies and international power struggles, while retaining Chainsaw Man’s blend of brutal action and dark humor. The arc also precedes the Gun Devil arc, which features one of the powerful antagonists of the entire series, Gun Devil, teased long back in the first season of the anime.
Despite the teaser’s substantial character reveals, the studio has not confirmed any release date for the new anime season. Reze Arc director Tatsuya Yoshihara returns to direct the upcoming Assassins Arc anime.
MAPPA Introduces Chainsaw Man’s First Mobile Game
MAPPA also confirmed Chainsaw Man’s first dedicated smartphone game is now in development. The studio did not name a developer, publisher, or specify a release window for the upcoming game.
Much about the Chainsaw Man Mobile Game remains undisclosed, including the gameplay. The MAPPA animated opening sequence of the game featured a new track, All the Lynch!! All the Mince!!, by Ryo Kawakita from veteran band Maximum the Hormone.
The Chainsaw Man Mobile Game shows MAPPA’s confidence in the IP and a new path to monetize the only known IP, among the ten IPs the studio reportedly owns. The franchise has sustained its momentum since its TV debut; the original manga also has more than 35M copies in circulation.
The film, Chainsaw Man Reze Arc, grossed $191.37 million USD globally, with huge demand in international markets. MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man segment closed a lineup that also brought several new updates, including a Jujutsu Kaisen season 4 trailer and confirmation of a third Ranma 1/2 season.
