My Hero Academia is marking a decade since its anime debut with a new version of You Say Run, one of the franchise’s signature themes. Composed by Yuki Hayashi and reworked with German electronicore band Electric Callboy, the track will be released globally on Sep 22, 2026.
It follows the live debut at My Hero Academia IN CONCERT in London on Sep 20, 2026.
My Hero Academia’s Iconic Theme Finds New Life
The new track features Electric Callboy vocalists Kevin Ratajczak and Nico Sallach, who added English lyrics after Hayashi envisioned a vocal-driven anniversary version. Toho’s music team sought international performers who could combine powerful shouts with melodic vocals, leading to the collaboration.
Ratajczak said the band was “beyond excited” to contribute to the song, while Sallach described the project as a “huge honor.” Likewise, Hayashi stated that the collaboration brings together the energy of My Hero Academia and Electric Callboy.
The reworked track combines Hayashi’s original orchestral composition with Electric Callboy’s EDM and pop-influenced sound. Bones Film also created new artwork showing Izuku Midoriya performing a Smash, referencing the first-season soundtrack cover.
You Say Run became a defining part of the anime’s action sequences and later inspired the 2016 You Say Run Goes With Everything meme. Hayashi discussed the meme in a May 2026 interview with Anime News Network, where he said he had seen the fan-made edits and was impressed by how well the track fit the different scenes.
My Hero Academia 10th Anniversary Celebration Continues
The release is part of the wider My Hero Academia The Animation 10th Anniversary project.
The anime concluded with its eighth season in Fall 2025, while Horikoshi’s manga ended in August 2024 after surpassing 100M copies sold worldwide. The franchise now spans eight seasons, more than 170 episodes, and four films.
The anniversary will culminate with My Hero Academia Ultra Expo on April 17-18, 2027, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. More event details are expected in October 2026.
