Highlights

  • BGIS 2026 sees 15 teams disqualified and three permanently banned by Krafton India Esports.
  • The BGMI bans were linked to cheating, document falsification, and roster exclusivity breaches.
  • Krafton stated the enforcement actions uphold competitive integrity as BGIS 2026 moves towards Round 3.

Krafton India Esports has disqualified a total of 15 teams and issued permanent bans to three others from the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series 2026 (BGIS 2026). The organizers informed on Feb 11, 2026, that the said teams violated tournament rules 6.2.2, 2.1.5, and 6.3.12 in Round 2 of BGIS 2026.

While disqualifications affected 15 teams, the three permanent bans were tied to confirmed cheating cases or violations of Rule 6.2.2. Under this term, Aaravos x GRIM Ravager, Only Pain, and Hyper Esports were banned.

Team Virtual and Alive Again Esports were banned for violating Rule 6.3.12 or for not meeting the documentation standard. The rest of the 13 teams were disqualified for violating Rule 2.1.5 or for not maintaining team exclusivity.

These 13 teams are: Team Captain, TENSAI, STEEL FALCONS, Shakti Kreeda, Golden Warriors, Slamming 4 Men, JAAPI ESPORTS, No1eSports,  SHADOW BLITZ, Orthodox Esports, ONE LAST DANCE, and Zero Fall ESPORTS.

The move reshapes the BGIS competitive field just a day before Round 3 starts on Feb 12, with 256 squads competing for advancement. In an enforcement update shared on X by Krafton India Esports, the publisher said the actions were taken “in accordance with the tournament regulations to uphold competitive integrity.”

Description of Violated Rules in BGIS 2026 Round 2

The “Battlegrounds Mobile India Official Competition Rules,” the governing document for BGIS or BGMI in broader terms, establishes the general rules, terms, and conditions for gameplay. As per the rulebook, any prohibited conduct, such as technical rule violations, misconduct, or documentation failures, can trigger disciplinary action.

As per the rulebook, 6.2.2 falls under the Prohibited Conduct section. This rule prohibits cheating or “the use of any kind of cheating hardware, device, or cheat program” and similar methods. This rule also restricts a player from “downloading any cheat program to the device used for Official Competition” matches.

Rule 6.3.12 falls under the Unprofessional Behavior section of the rulebook. This rule requires all team members to meet the documentation standard set by Krafton or the organizer. If a member knowingly submits false or inaccurate information to the tournament organizer or the publisher, the “team may be subject to sanctions.”

Lastly, Rule 2.1.5 is designed as an eligibility criterion as per the rulebook and upholds team exclusivity for participating members. Under this rule, a player or team member can only “compete or work for the one Team that they have an agreement with.” Simultaneously, it also prohibits players from registering under multiple rosters.

Krafton India Esports took the conclusive actions after investigating the activities of BGIS Round 2, which concluded on Feb 8, 2026. While Krafton India informed which rules were broken, the organizer is yet to detail how the players violated those rules.
