Ubisoft has officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, confirming a July 9, 2026, release. The game will launch across PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with additional availability via Blacknut and NVIDIA GeForce Now. The announcement follows more than a year of leaks from voice actors, merchandising, and ratings boards, culminating in an official showcase presentation.
The remake revisits Edward Kenway’s story 13 years after the original release, rebuilt using the latest version of Ubisoft’s Anvil engine.
The development is led by Ubisoft Singapore with support from a wide network of studios, including Ubisoft Montreal, Bordeaux, Quebec, Barcelona, Shanghai, Kyiv, and others. Besides that, the original Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag will remain available for purchase.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced’s Gameplay Systems, Features, and Technical Upgrades
Ubisoft describes the project as a full rebuild with updated visuals and gameplay systems. The Caribbean setting has been reworked with ray-traced (RTX) global illumination, reflections, Physically Based Rendering pipelines, micropolygon rendering, and modernized water simulation. Dynamic weather and destructible environmental elements are integrated into gameplay.
Meanwhile, combat has been redesigned with parry-driven mechanics, rope-dart and pistol actions, new takedowns, and a new enemy archetype called the "Demolitionist." Stealth systems now include crouch-anywhere movement and dive-based approaches from the sea. The studio also features expanded Eagle Vision through Observe mode and light-based visibility detection.
Additionally, naval gameplay has been expanded with new secondary weapons such as shrapnel barrels and 8-pounders.

Along with that, players can recruit three new officers: the Padre, Lucy Baldwin, and Dead Man Smith, each with unique quests and ship abilities. More features include expanded Jackdaw customization, reworked faction systems, ship pets, and updates to Kenway’s Fleet for passive income systems.
Game director at Ubisoft Singapore, Richard Knight, stated, “Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced matters deeply to us and to you. That's why we took the time to rebuild it with the care it deserves.” He added, “This remains a solo adventure and character-driven experience. It is not an RPG. The focus stays on how you play and how you explore the world.”
Ubisoft also confirmed the removal of multiplayer, positioning the remake as a story-driven experience focused on Edward’s journey.
