Highlights

  • Cosworth and Next Level Racing have partnered to create new elite sim hardware.
  • The deal marks Cosworth's strategic expansion into the growing sim racing market.
  • They will use real motorsport engineering to build more authentic consumer products.

In a move that strengthens the increasingly deep connection between real and virtual motorsport, British engineering firm Cosworth has announced a strategic partnership with simulator hardware leader Next Level Racing.

The deal is a comprehensive, two-way alliance that goes beyond a simple sponsorship. Cosworth will integrate Next Level Racing's professional-grade simulator rigs across its UK facilities for engineering training and technical demonstrations. Simultaneously, the two companies will also collaborate on designing and developing a new line of co-branded, elite-level sim racing products for consumers.

This partnership marks one of the most significant steps in Cosworth's calculated expansion into the digital motorsport world. The move is followed by their recent deal in August to become the official data analysis partner for the popular sim platform iRacing.

The Strategy Behind Sim Racing Partnership

Cosworth's push into simulation is backed by powerful economic data. The global racing simulator market was valued at approximately $500 million USD in 2024 and is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.6% through 2030, according to an industry analysis by MarketsandMarkets.

The market is expected to grow even as it matures. Following an explosive boom during the COVID-19 pandemic, the rate of expansion has stabilized. However, the industry continues to attract serious investment from major motorsport entities, including Porsche's recent launch of a dedicated esports facility and the FIA's new global sim racing initiatives.

"Simulation and esports are no longer niche; they’re fast becoming a core part of how drivers learn, how fans engage, and how technologies are tested," said Florian Kamelger, CEO of Cosworth, in a statement. "By partnering with Next Level Racing, we’re not only equipping ourselves with world-class sim hardware, but we’re building a more complete, more credible proposition across the sim racing ecosystem.”

Their collaboration aims to leverage Cosworth's six decades of high-performance engineering experience to create a new benchmark for realism and quality in consumer hardware. However, for consumers, the collaboration promises a new tier of authenticity. Next Level Racing, an Australian company founded in 2009, is already a giant in the industry.

"This is not just a branding exercise," commented Hess Ghah, CEO of Next Level Racing. "Our engineering teams are working hand-in-hand with Cosworth's experts to integrate principles of chassis dynamics, ergonomics, and material science that are born directly from the racetrack. We are incredibly excited to show the sim racing community what we are creating together."

The first products to emerge from the Cosworth and Next Level Racing collaboration are expected to be unveiled in early 2026.
