Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 1 is officially nearing its end, and the battle royale experience is gearing up for a massive transformation. Dropping in just a few weeks on March 19, 2026, Chapter 7 Season 2 will bring sweeping changes to the Golden Coast island. A new teaser from Epic Games, combined with leaks from ShiinaBR, reveals a Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 new map reshaped by a mysterious central Zero Point shard. Players can expect a thrilling blend of fresh biomes, returning lore favorites, and at least three major new Points of Interest (POIs) that will completely shake up the island's dynamic drops.

The most anticipated addition taking center stage on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 new map is a sprawling new snow biome anchored by the imposing Ice King's Castle. Following an iceberg that is currently on a collision course with the island, this massive fortress revives the iconic villain from Chapter 1, Season 7. Fans have already spotted snowy decorations hinting at his arrival, which makes perfect sense given his recent remixed appearances during the Fortnite OG and Love and Legends events.

Covered in ice, this lore-heavy hotspot promises to be a chaotic new drop zone. Not only will it feature high-tier loot, but players will likely have to survive intense environmental hazards, such as blinding mid-match blizzards, to claim it.

Remixed Classics and Desert Transformations

Beyond the freezing temperatures, major overhauls are hitting both the aquatic and sandy regions of the map. A heavily damaged, remixed version of the Fortnite Chapter 2 fan-favorite, Coral Castle, is emerging in the water zone. This revamped coastal site features a broken lighthouse and scattered shipwreck debris for tactical cover, all overshadowed by a critical Zero Point shard looming nearby.

Meanwhile, a brand-new settlement is arriving in the desert biome. Expected to completely replace the existing Painted Palms area in the island's northeast, this fresh POI will bring brand-new combat dynamics to the sandy terrain, as per TOI.

The upcoming update won't just introduce static map locations, but Epic Games is set to introduce dynamic new mechanics to keep players on their toes. A recent promotional video subtly teased a flowing purple river, which insiders suggest will act as a mobility booster similar to Chapter 5's green River Styx. Furthermore, Fortnite Design Director Ted Timmins recently hinted at a dynamic "new-old meta loot spot.”

These sweeping landscape overhauls arrive as the game shifts its overarching narrative focus. While early rumors pointed toward a strictly Norse mythology theme, the active Zero Point shard and the returning Ice King point to a shattered reality pulling in various timelines.

With the current season receiving its final update to ensure a smooth transition, you have until mid-March to wrap up your Chapter 7 Season 1 Battle Pass before dropping into this chaotic, transformed island.
