Forza Horizon 6 Surfaces Online After Steam Preload Error
A Steam preload error exposed Forza Horizon 6's full PC build online, days before its scheduled May 19 launch.
Highlights
- Forza Horizon 6's full 155GB PC build leaked on May 10, 2026, after a Steam preload error left the game's files unencrypted ahead of launch.
- Despite the leak, online features, including multiplayer and seasonal events, remain locked behind server-side systems.
- Microsoft has not announced any changes to the May 19 release schedule.
A playable PC build of Forza Horizon 6 leaked online after an apparent Steam preload mistake exposed the game’s full files days before release. The leak surfaced on May 10, 2026, through SteamDB, where a 155GB update containing the complete game data appeared unencrypted ahead of launch.
The upcoming racing title from Playground Games is scheduled to launch on May 19, 2026, with Premium Edition owners receiving Advanced Access on May 15. However, players are already sharing gameplay footage online after piracy groups reportedly used cracks to launch the leaked build.
SteamDB Listing Reveals Massive Forza Horizon 6 Upload
SteamDB lists Forza Horizon 6 under App ID 2483190 with support for Windows PCs, alongside multiple editions priced up to INR 9,699 for the Premium Edition in India. The database also describes the game as Playground Games’ “biggest open world driving adventure yet,” featuring more than 550 real-world cars across Japan-inspired environments.
Within hours of the files surfacing on SteamDB, gameplay footage and file details were circulating widely across social media.
Online Features Still Locked Ahead of Release Date
Despite the leak, several major features remain inaccessible.
Multiplayer modes, shared liveries, seasonal events, and tuning presets still rely on server-side systems that are not active before launch. Similar protections prevented consistent online access in pirated copies of Forza Horizon 5.
The leak also disrupts Microsoft’s final marketing stretch for the game, which has heavily promoted its Japan setting and expanded vehicle roster in recent Xbox showcases. While some fans have called for an earlier release date following the breach, Microsoft has not announced any changes to its current launch schedule.
