Green Man Gaming is making a play for India's growing PC gaming market, launching a charity game bundle with aggressive regional pricing that undercuts rivals Steam and Epic Games Store.
The U.K.-based digital game publisher on Oct. 2 rolled out a bundle of eight titles, including RoboCop: Rogue City and Moonscars, priced as low as INR 720, or about $12. The offer, available through Oct. 15, marks the company's first major push into India with localized pricing across more than 50 titles.
The move comes as India's gaming sector expands rapidly, driven by improving internet infrastructure and rising disposable incomes among young consumers. Green Man Gaming is positioning itself to capture price-sensitive consumers in a market where Steam has faced criticism for insufficient rupee-adjusted discounts.
Regional Pricing Strategy Targets Price-Sensitive Gamers
Green Man Gaming's bundle strategy borrows from Humble Bundle's playbook but adds a philanthropic twist. A portion of October sales will benefit SpecialEffect, a U.K. charity that develops accessibility tools for disabled gamers, as part of the organization's One Special Day campaign on Oct. 3.
The publisher is offering three bundle tiers: Supporter at INR 720, Champion at INR 900, and Legend at INR 1,200. The lineup includes titles such as Old World, Citizen Sleeper, and Battle Shapers. Buyers can customize how their payment is allocated among charity, publishers, or Green Man Gaming.
The pricing undercuts typical offers from larger competitors. Steam's rupee-adjusted discounts on AAA and indie titles often fall short of Green Man Gaming's bundle pricing, while Epic Games Store still relies primarily on dollar-based pricing for new releases in India, with limited regional price adjustments.
"Finally, proper India pricing on GMG. Long overdue move to challenge Steam," one user posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Gaming database SteamDB noted that Green Man Gaming's products are "priced on par with the lowest recorded price."
The Indian push intensifies competition among PC game storefronts. While Epic Games Store has focused on offering free weekly games rather than comprehensive regional pricing, Green Man Gaming is betting that localized pricing combined with charitable giving will resonate with cost-conscious Indian gamers.
The company's new bundles platform emphasizes transparency, instant key delivery, and charity support, tailored specifically for regional expansion, including India.
