Highlights

  • GTA Online is now accessible at no extra cost for GTA+ members on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
  • Monthly GTA$500,000, exclusive discounts, and special vehicles boost the player ecosystem in GTA Online.
  • GTA 6 delayed to November 2026, with GTA+ providing ongoing community benefits in the interim.

Rockstar Games has announced that GTA Online is now included with the GTA+ membership for current-gen consoles, offering players an enhanced online experience as they await the delayed release of GTA 6, now scheduled for November 2026.

GTA+ Membership Brings GTA Online to Subscribers

GTA+ members on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S gain full access to GTA Online without needing to purchase the game separately. This $7.99 membership not only unlocks the popular multiplayer mode but also provides additional perks like a monthly GTA$500,000 stipend, exclusive access to GTA+ Shark Cards with a 15% bonus, and special offers and discounts.

Members receive unique in-game benefits, including access to the Vinewood Car Club, featuring a 100-car garage, a new vehicle workshop with discounted modifications, and the Vinewood Club App to manage business earnings and vehicle requests. GTA+ also delivers evolving monthly content such as new vehicle liveries, apparel options, and GTA$ and RP multipliers designed to enrich the player experience.

However, the move also reignites debate around the gaming subscriptions. As platforms like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus steadily raise prices while cycling out fan-favorite titles, players have grown wary of the diminishing value behind recurring fees.

Critics argue that while subscriptions promise convenience, they often lock players into fragmented ecosystems and transient access. Rockstar’s inclusion of GTA Online in GTA+ straddles that fine line, offering tangible perks, but also reminding players how deeply the industry is shifting toward controlled, service-driven models.

While fans eagerly anticipate the next installment, Rockstar recently confirmed a second delay for GTA 6. Originally slated for 2025, its release has been postponed to November 19, 2026. Meanwhile, GTA Online’s inclusion in GTA+ aims to keep the player base engaged and provide value during the wait.
