Highlights

  • Immutable has launched a new mobile division to enter the $121 billion mobile gaming market.
  • It aims to simplify Web3 game development for studios with a suite of tools and investment.
  • The move leverages favorable regulations and the company's strong existing growth.

Immutable, a leading Web3 gaming company, is officially making its move on the mobile world by launching a dedicated division to bring blockchain gaming to the masses. The company is setting its sights on the massive $121 billion mobile gaming market, aiming to solve the complexities that have kept Web3 from truly taking off on smartphones.

The new unit is designed to be an all-in-one solution for game studios, providing them with mobile-friendly development tools, easier integration with app stores, and direct investment to help them build and scale games for both iOS and Android.

Targeting the Massive Mobile Gaming Market

Immutable's co-founder and president, Robbie Ferguson, made the company's ambitions clear, describing the new division on social media as a "specialist task force, hell bent on breaking games into the $121bn mobile market." He added, "Since April, we’ve already taken three games to the No. 1 rank on mobile stores. Now we want the charts to be dominated by Immutable.”

This strategic push comes at a perfect time, as the regulatory and market environment is becoming more favorable. Recent developments, like the 2025 Epic Games v. Apple ruling that eased restrictions on external crypto payments, have lowered the barriers that once made it difficult for Web3 games to thrive on major mobile platforms.

Immutable is already riding a wave of momentum, having added over 180 new games to its ecosystem this year, bringing the total to over 680 titles. This growth is backed by the company reporting a 53% increase in developer interest and a 32% month-on-month rise in active users.

Recent successes, like the idle RPG Slime Miner, have shown that their approach can work. This new mobile initiative will follow other major integrations into the gaming world, such as Immutable's flagship title, Guild of Guardians, partnering with top esports organizations like Fnatic and Team Liquid.

The company also has a pipeline of mobile-focused titles, including the upcoming trading card game Project O and a new release from Spider Tanks creator GAMEDIA.

Ultimately, Immutable's strategy is to make Web3 gaming feel as natural and seamless as any other mobile game. By removing the technical hurdles for developers and players, the company is positioning itself to capture a significant piece of gaming's most lucrative market.
