South Korean publisher KRAFTON, Inc. has 26 games in development and plans to release 12 of them within the next two years as it continues its effort to secure what it calls a “big franchise IP.” The roadmap was outlined in a company blog post and reaffirmed during its Jan. 15, 2026, KLT (KRAFTON LIVE TALK) town hall, which detailed the company’s 2026 management strategy and long-term growth plans.
Krafton said its objective is to build franchises that extend beyond a single game, expanding across genres, content, and service formats to support sustainable growth. The company described this as a disciplined approach focused on validation rather than volume.
Krafton's Franchise IP Strategy and 26-Game Development Pipeline
The publisher said its 26-project pipeline is structured around early validation and clear decision gates, with targeted or limited launches used to assess long-term potential.
Twelve titles are slated to launch within the next two years, including Subnautica 2, Palworld Mobile, and No Law. Each project is introduced in markets with an identifiable core fan base, allowing teams to evaluate long-term potential through data rather than pursuing simultaneous full-scale launches.
Alongside new IP (intellectual property), Krafton is expanding the PUBG IP through cultural collaborations, service improvements, and user-generated content. The company has already broadened the PUBG universe with Black Budget and Blindspot, testing the brand’s reach into new genres.
“We will remain focused on KRAFTON’s core gaming business as we begin to move into the execution phase of producing new titles,” CEO CH Kim said, adding that the company will expand PUBG while creating new franchise IPs through its pipeline and creative leadership.
The update comes as Krafton remains locked in a legal dispute with the former Subnautica 2 leadership over a contested $250 million USD performance bonus, underscoring the stakes of its next phase of growth.
Krafton also reiterated its plan to become an “AI-first” company, which was first announced in October 2025. It is currently applying AI (artificial intelligence) to game development while exploring longer-term uses in physical AI and robotics.
