Netflix has launched a new feature allowing its users to play select games directly on their TV screens by using their smartphones as controllers with no additional setup required. All these titles come free with a standard Netflix subscription, which offers four tiers in India.

Users can get the Mobile, Basic, Standard, or Premium plans to experience the new service. Alongside TV games, Netflix also revealed a new slate of games that are going to come to mobile.

WWE 2K25 and Red Dead Redemption are Coming to Netflix Game Night

Alain Tascan, President of Games at Netflix, said, “Starting today, you can play games on your TV, using your phone as a controller — no setup needed, it’s as easy as streaming your favorite shows.” This marks a significant expansion of Netflix’s gaming ecosystem, bringing casual and party games into the living room space accessible to all subscribers with compatible devices. Users can play the games on their TV with their Android or iOS phone as a controller.

The launch slate of easy-to-play TV games includes fun, casual titles such as Boggle Party, Lego Party, Party Crashers: Fool Your Friends, Pictionary: Game Night, and Tetris Time Wrap, all available now. The lineup also features Dead Man’s Party: A Knives Out Game, coming soon. These games are curated to promote social and lighthearted group play.

To play Netflix TV games, users simply open Netflix on a compatible smart TV, navigate to the new "Games" tab, select a game, and scan a QR code appearing on the TV screen with their smartphone camera. For Android devices, this process involves the main Netflix app, while iPhone and iPad users will use a dedicated Netflix Game Controller app. The phone then pairs as a wireless controller with minimal setup.

Netflix also revealed a new slate of games coming soon to mobile devices under its gaming subscription. These include titles like WWE2K25, Red Dead Redemption, PAW Patrol Academy, and the US-only Best Guess Live, as well as available favorites such as Lego Duplo World, Barbie Color Creations, and Toca Boca Hair Salon 4.

This integration of games on TV directly managed through smartphones represents Netflix’s ongoing strategy to diversify content and increase engagement across its user base.
