Pokémon Champions is coming to mobile. The Pokémon Company International confirmed that the game will launch globally on iOS and Android on June 17, 2026, with pre-registration now open ahead of release. The mobile version will support cross-platform play with the Nintendo Switch version, and players can carry their saved data across both platforms by logging in with the same Nintendo account.
To mark the launch, The Pokémon Company announced a limited in-game campaign centered on Raichu, running from June 17 through September 2. Players on both Switch and mobile can claim Raichu, Raichunite X, and Raichunite Y directly from their in-game mailbox during the campaign window. These Mega Stones for the three Pokémon will also become available through the in-game shop and other sources at a later date.
Champions Introduces New Mega Evolutions
The launch campaign for Pokémon Champions introduces two new Mega Evolution forms for Raichu, each with distinct battle applications. Mega Raichu X is an Electric-type with the ability Electric Surge, which activates Electric Terrain for several turns.
While Electric Terrain is active, grounded Pokémon receive a 30% boost to Electric-type moves. The latter are immune to being put to sleep, making Mega Raichu X a strong terrain-setter in competitive formats where sleep-based strategies are common.
Mega Raichu Y is also an Electric-type, but takes a very different approach. Its ability is No Guard, which guarantees that all moves used by and against it will land with 100% accuracy. No Guard is a double-edged ability that rewards aggressive, high-power movesets while accepting the trade-off of never being able to dodge incoming attacks. In the right build, it opens up access to otherwise unreliable high-damage moves without the accuracy penalty. Players can try out the new Pokémon on all platforms once the game launches on mobile.
Both forms can be obtained through the mobile game’s launch campaign, giving players the chance to experiment with either approach from the moment the mobile version goes live. Raichu can also be obtained through other in-game methods beyond the mailbox campaign, and the Mega Stones are expected to remain accessible through the shop after the event concludes.
