PUBG Mobile has announced a full Naruto Shippuden game mode, NARUTO: Ninjas Assemble, to its Version 4.5 update. The new update will bring Naruto-themed locations, signature ninjutsu, anime-inspired gameplay mechanics, and giveaways into the battle royale.

The update went live globally on July 9 and will be available till September 7, following a time-limited strategy. The PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden collaboration marks the battle royale’s most ambitious anime crossover to date, as per the announcement.

The collaboration arrived alongside an original animated trailer produced by Studio Pierrot, the studio behind the Naruto franchise. The animated short showcases a Hidden Leaf-inspired worldbuilding and key characters like Naruto Uzumaki, Kakashi, Jiraya, Sasuke, and others crossing paths during PUBG-inspired battle sequences.

The game’s Naruto Shippuden crossover was first teased in June, before a shortened version of the Pierrot-animated PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden trailer dropped on July 1. However, the exact collaboration details were not announced at that time.

PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden: Inside the Collab’s Naruto-Themed Mode

The centerpiece of PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden is NARUTO: Ninjas Assemble, available across the Erangel, Sanhok, and Livik, maps. It recreates locations from the Hidden Leaf Village, including Hokage Rock, the Ninja Academy, Ichiraku Ramen Shop, Chunin Exam Finals Arena, and the Valley of the End.

The collaboration adds recognizable jutsu such as Rasengan, Chidori, Shadow Clone Jutsu, and Flying Raijin, alongside encounters with Kurama (Nine-Tails) and other Naruto-themed encounters. Players will gain access to the featured ninjutsu over phases between July 9 and July 14, rather than all at once.

From July 12, players will be able to unlock special character sets for characters including Naruto, Jiraiya, Sakura, Sasuke, Madara, and Kakashi. To further the experience of the PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden world, Krafton also brought outfits, emotes, themed-vehicles, Kurama Buddy pet, and collectibles tied to Naruto Shippuden.

Kurama can be used to attack Hidden Leaf from July 17. During this special match, players are required to unite and defend the village.

In the NARUTO: Ninjas Assemble mode, players will face rogue ninjas across the map, mainly during airdrops and near supply vehicles. Starting July 14, players in the Chunin Exam Finals Arena can trigger jutsu by voice command during ninjutsu duels, a feature Krafton says makes PUBG Mobile one of the first battle royales to have the mechanics.

Additionally, the PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden collab came with Naruto-themed outfits, weapons, and a giveaway campaign. Ver. 4.5 update also integrated Naruto-themed content into World of Wonder and in chapter 33 of Metro Royale. World of Wonder is featuring a PC Editor for the first time, letting creators build and edit their creations on PC.

What More Players Can Expect from PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden Collab?

To commemorate the iconic collaboration, the publisher has announced a series of physical activations tied to the PUBG Mobile x Naruto Shippuden collab, starting from July 9. The collaboration features the game’s biggest giveaway, worth $600 USD, as per the announcement. Players are also getting opportunities to share two prize pools offering $100K and $300K.

The Naruto content is one of three collaborations bundled into Version 4.5. The update will also bring the Scuderia Ferrari HP partnership from July 10. Nonetheless, PUBG Mobile Ver. 4.5 reinforces a strategy of using globally recognized entertainment brands to refresh its live-service ecosystem while giving players new ways to experience the core battle royale format.

KRAFTON India Brings the Naruto Collaboration in BGMI

Much like PUBG Mobile’s Naruto collaboration, the BGMI event also includes signature ninjutsu such as Rasengan, Chidori, Great Fireball Jutsu, and Shadow Clone Jutsu, alongside the Kurama Boss Battle, Nine-Tails Special Match, themed collectibles, exclusive character skins, and Naruto-inspired progression rewards.

KRAFTON India’s BGMI x Naruto event will also allow players to trigger jutsu using voice commands. However, unlike the three maps in PUBG Mobile, it will only transform Erangel and Livik into locations inspired by the Hidden Leaf Village. Fans can expect iconic landmarks such as Hokage Rock, Ichiraku Ramen Shop, the Chunin Exam Arena, and the Valley of the End, recreated in BGMI’s world.
