eFootball x Naruto Collaboration Launches on April 30
Konami Launches eFootball x Naruto Shippuden Crossover
The two-week campaign brings Naruto-themed Epic cards, stadium cosmetics and in-game events to Konami's free-to-play football title, extending the publisher's run of anime collaborations.
Highlights
- Konami launches a limited-time eFootball x Naruto Shippuden collab aligning with v5.4.1 update.
- Players can unlock Naruto-themed Epic Cards, special abilities, and football stars like Marcelo and Gareth Bale among the campaign inclusions.
- Following past collaboration events like Blue Lock and Yu-Gi-Oh!, the Naruto Shippuden crossover highlights the rising trend of anime collaborations in live-service games.
Konami confirmed an eFootball 2026 crossover with Naruto Shippuden on Wednesday, releasing the campaign alongside the game's v5.4.1 patch on April 30. The collaboration runs from April 30 to May 14.
The publisher had teased the partnership a day earlier on the official eFootball X account, posting an image of a shinobi headband stamped with the eFootball logo. Leaked client visuals had circulated since April 28, including a cover image showing Brazilian forward Neymar Jr. in a Naruto-inspired design. A similar early rollout occurred with the v5.4.0 update, when content appeared on certain platforms ahead of any formal announcement.
The launch trailer features Neymar Jr., Real Sociedad winger Takefusa Kubo, Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard and Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski. AC Milan players Rafael Leão, Luka Modrić, Christian Pulisic and Alexis Saelemaekers also appear in the themed content pool.
eFootball x Naruto Epic cards, rewards and event schedule
The update adds an Epic: Worldwide Clubs pack tied to the crossover, with Marcelo and Aubameyang making their Epic-card debuts. The pack runs from April 30 to May 7, with the Naruto-themed Marcelo card scheduled to go live after maintenance on May 7. Themed Epic cards across the campaign blend real-world footballers with effects drawn from the anime, and most are tied to Challenge Events that reward players, tokens and cosmetics on completion.
The Campaign Hub introduces Naruto-themed stadium choreographies, goal celebrations and projections, and oversized visual props inspired by characters such as Kurama and Sasuke's Susanoo. The patch itself is light on gameplay changes. Outside the collaboration, v5.4.1 adds a Nominating Contract called Elite Lineage, which focuses on footballing families and brothers in the same selection pool, and refreshes Division Phase 10 rewards with a Jurriën Timber card carrying the Fortress skill.
eFootball anime collaborations: Captain Tsubasa, Blue Lock, Yu-Gi-Oh! and now Naruto
Naruto Shippuden is the fourth anime collaboration for eFootball, following Captain Tsubasa, Blue Lock and Yu-Gi-Oh! The Blue Lock event drew the strongest reception from the community, helped by the source material's football setting and the visual treatment of its themed cards.
The crossover fits a wider pattern in live-service games, where publishers lean on anime IP to drive engagement and in-game spending between major content drops. For Konami, which saw eFootball cross one billion downloads earlier this year, the strategy keeps players returning during quieter patch cycles when core gameplay updates are minimal.
