Roblox’s Steal a Brainrot Breaks All-Time Player Record
Roblox’s Viral Hit Reshapes Platform Records and Player Engagement
- Steal a Brainrot hits 25.2 million concurrent users, breaking records.
- It surpasses Grow a Garden in peak players, but not in lifetime visits.
- With this record, Roblox ranked in the Top 10 Mobile Game Maker 2025 at PGC Helsinki.
With 25.2 million concurrent users, Roblox’s Steal a Brainrot has shattered the records by becoming one of the most-played single games ever by that metric. It became the second Roblox game ever to exceed 20 million concurrent users. The game surpassed Grow a Garden, which had long held the record of about 22.4 million.
Steal a Brainrot vs. Grow a Garden: Metrics Breakdown
Despite Grow a Garden's splendid lifetime visits of 32.2 billion, Steal a Brainrot is catching up fast, currently around 30.1 billion. However, on average, players spend about a third of their time in Steal a Brainrot, compared to Grow a Garden.
But it is not just about the total number of visits; Steal a Brainrot has also broken previous records. It has surpassed Fortnite's peak of 15.3 million from late 2020 and Steam’s PUBG: Battlegrounds at 3.2 million back in 2018.
Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot has helped Roblox grow its platform. Concurrent users of Roblox peaked at 47.4 million in August 2025. Its daily active users (DAUs) in Q2 2025 rose to 111.8 million, with a 41% increase from 79.3 million in Q2 2024.
Steal a Brainrot and Fortnite
The success of Steal a Brainrot led to its expansion into Fortnite Creative. In mid-2025, Epic Games licensed the game into its system, officially titled Steal the Brainrot. The game reached 500,000 concurrent users in September 2025, temporarily surpassing Fortnite Battle Royale. It broke the previous Fortnite Creative Island record of 235,000. That record was set by the Super Red vs Blue map in May 2025. It later peaked at 542,000 concurrent users, setting new community game records.
Epic Games has recently introduced a new revenue-sharing model allowing creators to sell in-game items directly on their islands, starting from December 2025. They will receive 100% of the V-Bucks value from these sales until the end of 2026, after which the revenue share will adjust to 50%. Their new Fortnite Version of Steal a Brainrot falls into the same category, and it may also follow the same model.
Impact on Roblox and the Gaming Industry
The 25.2 million milestone solidifies Steal a Brainrot not just as a Roblox phenomenon, but as a global concurrency benchmark, earning a spot in the top 10 of the Top 50 Mobile Game Makers 2025 at PGC Helsinki. This reflects on the platform’s growth as a mobile powerhouse.
The question now is not about which game would set the record, but which can keep the players engaged for a long period of time. The success of Steal a Brainrot is sky high, but platform momentum, monetization, and sustained engagement will determine which title truly endures.
