Highlights

  • Circana confirms Battlefield 6 is the best-selling game of 2025 year-to-date in the U.S., in dollar sales.
  • The FPS achieved the largest single-month revenue for a full game in three years, outperforming other major launches.
  • Battlefield 6’s momentum supports a strong market rebound for the Battlefield franchise, contributing $4.9B in U.S. October gaming revenue.

Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 6 has become the best-selling game of 2025 year-to-date in the U.S., topping other significant releases, such as NBA 2K26 and Ghost of Yotei. According to the data published by Mat Piscatella, a market analyst from Circana, the title also led U.S. full-game tracked dollar sales through October.

The first-person shooter (FPS) title additionally delivered the largest single-month dollar total for a full game in the last three years, a feat previously achieved by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. The publisher previously stated that Battlefield 6 is the best-selling FPS of the year, and the latest U.S. year-to-date ranking reinforces that claim with independently tracked financial data.

Battlefield 6 further reinforces its position as EA’s strongest shooter launch by grossing over the lifetime revenue of the franchise’s previous best seller, Battlefield 1.

Inside the Sales Metrics and Market Context

Battlefield 6’s rise is supported by consistently strong monthly performance across physical and digital storefronts, including PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Circana does not disclose unit figures; its rankings reflect dollar-based full-game sales, emphasizing premium purchase revenue rather than engagement or live-service metrics.

Currently, Battlefield 6 is the top-selling game of 2025 on both Xbox and PC; however, it trails behind NBA 2K26, ranking as the second best-selling game on PlayStation.

October video-game spending in the U.S. reached roughly $4.9B, up around 3% year-over-year revenue. According to Piscatella, Battlefield 6, mobile content, and Switch 2 hardware were the significant drivers behind it.

Battlefield 6 is followed by Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as the second best-selling title overall, and the most-selling title on Nintendo platforms. Additionally, Ghost of Yotei and NBA 2K26 sustained consistent sales by ranking the second and third best-selling premium games on PlayStation platforms.

The October sales reinforced EA’s position in the U.S. market; EA Sports College Football 26 ranked 5th in the U.S. Top 20 Games Year-to-Date list. EA’s other titles, such as EA Sports FC 26 and Madden NFL 26, retained engagement as annual sports titles.
