- The collaboration also serves as Randhawa’s first official K-pop project.
K-pop girl group Le Sserafim has released a global remix of its single Boompala featuring Indian singer Guru Randhawa, marking the first time the group has worked with an Indian artist. The remix, facilitated by Warner Music India, dropped on June 5, adding Randhawa’s Punjabi pop sound to the track’s Latin-house base.
Boompala was originally released in Le Sserafim’s latest album, Pureflow pt. 1, in May 2026. Pureflow pt. 1 debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200, the group’s fifth consecutive top 10 entry on the chart, before reaching atop the Billboard Top Album Sales chart.
Randhawa’s Entry Into Kpop With Le Sserafim’s Boompala Remix
The Boompala collaboration also represents Randhawa’s first official entry into K-pop. “Le Sserafim is incredible and BOOMPALA already has an infectious energy that reminds me of the massive, celebratory vibe we love in India,” Randhawa said in a statement.
He further added, “Bringing a touch of my signature style to a Latin-house K-pop track sampling Macarena felt like a beautiful masterpiece.” Le Sserafim said the goal behind the original song was to build a “shared, festival-like energy” across cultures, while discussing Randhawa’s contribution to the global track.
Le Sserafim, comprising Hong Eunchae, Kim Chaewon, Kazuha, Sakura, and Huh Yunjin, debuted in 2022 under Source Label, a HYBE sub-label. Le Sserafim’s first studio album, Unforgiven, debuted in the top ten on the Billboard 200 chart.
The Boompala remix illustrates how K-pop’s globalization strategy is evolving from exporting to creating region-specific collaborations. Randhawa’s Le Sserafim collaboration adds to his long list of cross-border songs, which includes works with Pitbull, French Montana, and Jay Sean, positioning him as one of the few South Asian pop artists with a global visibility.
