  • The lineup spans three tiers: "Football Highlights" dioramas ($29.99), "Football Legend" buildable figures ($79.99), and a 1,427-piece Messi wall-art display ($199.99).
  • Pre-orders are open now at LEGO, with most sets shipping May 1 and the Messi Celebration model following on June 1.

The LEGO Group on Wednesday announced a nine-set collection tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026, headlined by buildable display models of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr. Pre-orders opened April 2, with most sets shipping May 1 and one arriving June 1.

The lineup is the latest move in LEGO's push into sports licensing through its Editions platform, which launched earlier in 2026 with a FIFA World Cup Official Trophy set and a buildable football. The new wave adds player-specific products at three price tiers, from $24.99 desk accessories to a $199.99 wall-art piece. All four athletes appear in LEGO minifigure form for the first time.

Four "Football Highlights" dioramas, all priced at $29.99 and rated for ages 10+, form the entry point. Each is built on a letter-shaped base tied to the player's name and uses their national team's color scheme. Ronaldo's 490-piece set sits on an R-shaped base in Portugal's red and green. Mbappé's 490-piece build uses an M-shaped base with France's colors and his number 10. Messi's 500-piece set features an M-shaped base in Argentina's national colors with a prominent number 10. Vinícius Jr.'s 510-piece model uses a V-shaped base in Brazil's yellow and green with his number 7. Each includes a minifigure, a collectible plaque, and career-referencing Easter eggs hidden in the build.

A step up, two "Football Legend" sets, one each for Messi (958 pieces) and Ronaldo (854 pieces), offer display-scale buildable figures at $79.99. Messi's figure can be posed in his signature victory celebration or a running pose. Ronaldo's can be arranged in his "Siuuu" celebration or a bicycle kick. Both include a printed nameplate and a new football element.

The collection's top-tier piece is the 1,427-piece Lionel Messi Celebration (43018), a 3D wall-art model priced at $199.99 and aimed at builders 14 and older. It shows Messi from behind in his victory pose, displaying his name and number 10 jersey, with Easter eggs referencing his life and career. That set ships June 1. The rest arrive May 1.

Two additional sets round out the wave: a 298-piece FIFA World Cup 2026 Official Emblem ($24.99) and a 167-piece 2026 U.S. Soccer National Team Jersey ($24.99), both exclusive to LEGO.com and LEGO-branded stores.

The football lineup joins a packed 2026 calendar for the brand, which also includes LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight launching in May.

LEGO Editions pop-ups, fan zones, and World Cup 2026 activations

LEGO also released an image of the four players assembling the LEGO Editions FIFA World Cup Trophy set, with more player-featuring content planned across LEGO's channels in the months before the tournament. The company plans global pop-up fan zones featuring a "Wall of Fame" jersey design station and "Brick Kickers," a multiplayer game where kids kick footballs at a digital LEGO wall to score points.

LEGO's transmedia strategy is not new. The company has been expanding beyond bricks into comics, games, and licensed entertainment properties for years, and was among the top anime brand collaborators in 2025 with its One Piece sets. The football collection applies that same playbook to sport.

The collection sits within a broader licensing strategy at LEGO. The Editions platform, launched in 2026, pairs collectible display sets with cultural properties. Football is the current focus, with Formula 1 builds also on the way. The 2,842-piece FIFA World Cup Official Trophy set, released in late 2025 at $199.99, kicked off the football segment of the line.

Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappé, and Vinícius Jr. react to their LEGO sets

Ronaldo said he was "incredibly honoured" to join the lineup and looked forward to fans discovering his story through the build. Mbappé said the set tells part of his story while capturing the energy and creativity of football. Messi compared football to LEGO play, calling both about building, rebuilding, and learning from mistakes. Vinícius Jr. spoke about passion and creativity reflected in the designs.

Pre-orders for all sets are already live and through select retailers including Amazon.
