Formula 1 will join Epic Games’ Fortnite on Nov. 20, bringing all 10 teams into one of the world’s most popular online games. The new ‘F1 Cosmetic Team Set’ launches ahead of the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix, placing the series in front of Fortnite’s global player base.
The update introduces team-branded outfits, gliders, pickaxes, back bling, and an emote for Victory Royale celebrations. All items will be available in Fortnite’s Item Shop, expanding F1’s commercial presence on a platform with approximately 30M daily users across PC, console, and mobile.
F1 Fortnite Collaboration Expands Digital Reach
For Formula 1, the agreement aligns with its push to embed the sport in broader entertainment networks to reach younger fans and sustain engagement year-round. Fortnite offers some 650M registered users and over 110M monthly active players globally. At the same time, F1’s U.S. fan base has grown to roughly 52M (as of 2024), up over 10% year-on-year.
Emily Prazer, Chief Commercial Officer of Formula 1, said the collaboration allows the sport to appear “in places you wouldn’t expect it to,” noting F1’s focus on engaging fans through broader digital channels.
The launch also aligns with Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 7 Season 1 and adds F1 to a catalog of branded partnerships the game uses to drive in-game spending. Epic Games continues to anchor its business model on cosmetic sales, making major franchise integrations a recurring revenue driver.
The F1 Cosmetic Team Set will go live Nov. 20 at 7 pm ET / 12 am GMT, tying directly into promotional activity for the Las Vegas race. Fortnite will also introduce Stranger Things content on Nov. 24, while the Blitz Mobile Cup competitive event runs until Nov. 23 or 24, offering cosmetic rewards for leaderboard performance.
The partnership underscores how sports and gaming collaborations are becoming central to digital growth strategies, giving F1 new distribution channels and keeping Fortnite positioned as a commercial hub for crossover entertainment.
