Highlights

  • MANGA Plus now lets fans turn digital manga pages into custom-made T-shirts.
  • Over 270 titles like One Piece are available for apparel via MANGA Plus.
  • Custom MANGA Plus shirts feature original Japanese artwork for $39.99 USD.

In a massive win for collectors and fashion enthusiasts, Shueisha has officially bridged the gap between digital reading and physical fandom. The publisher’s global platform, MANGA Plus, rolled out a major new feature globally this week that allows readers to turn their favorite digital manga pages into custom apparel. The tool is live as of 16 February 2026, and powered by a partnership with Tokyo Otaku Mode, the new "T-Shirt Maker" is now live for fans worldwide, currently excluding those in Japan, China, and South Korea.

The process is designed to integrate seamlessly into a fan’s daily reading routine on both the MANGA Plus app and website. While browsing through eligible chapters, readers will now spot a "Create" icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Clicking this button instantly redirects users to an external checkout page managed by Tokyo Otaku Mode to finalize the design.

While the library is vast, there are some necessary guardrails to keep in mind. The "Create" button only appears on pages explicitly cleared for merchandise use, which generally applies to specific titles and chapters from Weekly Shonen Jump or Shonen Jump+ released since December 2017, as reported by Crunchyroll.

For those who value authenticity, Shueisha has made a bold stylistic choice regarding how these shirts look. The printed T-shirts will always feature the original Japanese artwork and text, regardless of the language settings you use in the app. This ensures that fans are wearing the exact "magazine version" of the page, complete with original effects and promotional text, rather than a translated localization. The tool even supports double-page spreads, allowing readers to splash iconic, wide-format moments across the chest of the shirt.

A Massive Library of Hits

The lineup of eligible series available at launch is staggering, featuring over 270 titles. Fans can create designs based on heavy hitters like One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Spy x Family, and Dandadan, as well as completed masterpieces like My Hero Academia and Kaiju No. 8. Newer fan favorites like Sakamoto Days are also included in the roster. It is important to note that a Tokyo Otaku Mode account is required to complete the purchase once the design is selected.

Fans can customize their apparel by choosing from four base colours: white, black, navy, or grey, with sizes ranging from Small to XXXL. Each custom-made shirt is priced at $39.99 USD, which is approximately ₹3,300, though this price excludes shipping costs. Since every item is made-to-order in Japan, shipping fees are expected to vary depending on the user's location.

Beyond being a fun feature, this initiative offers a new way to directly support the industry, allowing global readers who enjoy free simultaneous releases to give back to the creators.
