Koei Tecmo has outlined an ambitious release roadmap, spanning till the end of fiscal 2027, in its first-quarter financial briefing on July 27. The Japanese publisher told investors that it will release six major console and PC titles, 19 mid-size games, along with two in-house online or mobile titles by the specified time.
The already confirmed Attack on Titan 3 and Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember headline the lineup as two major releases. Koei Tecmo’s pipeline emphasizes both quantitative and qualitative growth.
Rather than leaning on AAA hits, which the company said carry rising financial risks, Koei Tecmo wants a lineup that spreads revenue across the year. The lineup will also include remasters, Switch 2 ports, and mid-tier releases.
Koei Tecmo Bets on Two Big Releases and Many Smaller Ones
Koei Tecmo’s financial result presentation shows several confirmed projects, beyond Attack on Titan 3 and Wo Long 2. Team Ninja’s Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is scheduled to release in early 2027 across PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
Omega Force’s Attack on Titan 3 (AoT3), which chronicles the Survey Corps’ early battle with Titans till the ending of the anime, is slated for winter 2026. It will also feature all Nine Titans from Hajime Isayama’s manga.
MAPPA, the animation studio behind AoT anime adaptation, is also producing an opening movie for AoT3. Apart from these two games, mid-size releases fill the calendar across 2026 and early 2027.
DEAD OR ALIVE 6 Last Round has already been released in June 2026, with BLUE REFLECTION Quartet scheduled for July 30. Nobunaga’s Ambition: Hishou, a strategy simulation game, is slated for Winter 2026.
Switch 2 ports of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition is coming out in September 2026. Another full game edition, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 14 Complete Edition is dropping across PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Switch, and Switch 2, in September as well. Apart from the confirmed titles, new titles in this 27-game lineup will be announced later.
Koei Tecmo is also developing an original action game, codenamed FUJI, which surfaced after METI selected the title for its IP360 initiative. The publisher has also expanded its workforce significantly; in two years, the number of workers grew from roughly 2,500 to more than 3,000 staff.
The game pipeline unveiled in the fourth mid-term management plan comes as Koei Tecmo’s game segment posted an operating profit of ¥5.28 billion (~$35 million USD) for the April-to-June quarter. The segment marked a 42.7% year-on-year growth, driven largely by back-catalog sales and steady repeat titles. Overall company revenue rose 17.4%, and operating profit climbed 51.3%.
