Rainbow Six Mobile will launch worldwide on Feb. 23, 2026, bringing Ubisoft’s free-to-play tactical first-person shooter to iOS and Android devices. The game adapts the core attack vs. defense format of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchise for mobile platforms.
The global release follows several years of testing, including closed alphas, multiple beta phases, and a soft launch in regions such as Latin America, Canada, France, and Poland.
Ubisoft says the extended rollout allowed the team to refine performance, controls, and systems specifically for mobile play.
At launch, Rainbow Six Mobile will offer three modes: Bomb, Bomb Rush, and Team Deathmatch. Matches will take place on mobile versions of familiar Rainbow Six Siege maps, including Oregon, Bank, Clubhouse, Border, and Villa, alongside Restaurant and Summit, two maps designed exclusively for mobile.
More than 20 operators will be available at launch, including Ash, Mute, and Dokkaebi. Ranked play, quick play, private matches, and an onboarding tutorial will also be included, with new content planned through seasonal updates.
Rainbow Six Mobile Joins the Industry Shift to Mobile Shooters
The title is developed by Ubisoft Montreal, with support from studios in Winnipeg, Halifax, Bucharest, and Chengdu. Ubisoft has described Rainbow Six Mobile as retaining the franchise’s tactical gameplay, destructible environments, and team-based coordination, while being optimized for shorter match lengths and mobile play sessions.
Rainbow Six Mobile builds on the long-running success of Rainbow Six Siege, which launched in 2015 and remains a key live-service title for Ubisoft. Siege has amassed an estimated 85M registered accounts worldwide with strong esports viewership at 521K peak and sustained monthly active player bases in the tens of millions across platforms.
The franchise has also been a significant revenue driver for Ubisoft, with estimates suggesting it has generated over €3.5B (~$4.1 billion USD) in lifetime consumer spending, placing it among the publisher’s top-performing IPs.
Ubisoft is also running a global pre-registration campaign that offers milestone-based cosmetic rewards, with additional items unlocked as more players sign up ahead of launch.
The worldwide launch places Rainbow Six Mobile alongside other major franchises that have expanded to mobile. It follows the success of titles such as PUBG Mobile and Call of Duty Mobile, while also reflecting the mixed outcomes seen with projects like Apex Legends Mobile and the growing anticipation around Valorant Mobile.
With smartphones now the most widely used gaming device globally, the move highlights how mobile expansion has become a calculated response to market potential rather than a simple extension of tradition.
