Highlights
- BTS has achieved a career-defining Billboard milestone by extending SWIM’s chart run to 8 weeks.
- The latest Billboard rankings reveal major moments for both BTS and JENNIE, signaling sustained global demand for K-pop's biggest names.
- Beyond individual achievements, this week's charts highlight a broader K-pop trend as Le Sserafim debuts at No. 10 on Billboard 200.
BTS has now matched its own high-water mark. As per Billboard’s latest chart data, the group’s title track from ARIRANG, named Swim, logged its eighth week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, thereby tying with their 2020 hit Dynamite. The chart run of Dynamite is deemed as the group’s longest-running leader along with six other songs, thereby accounting for eight songs in total to top this particular chart. This number is exactly double the output of its closest rivals, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, and BLACKPINK, who sit at four each.
BTS Swim Becomes the 8th Song to Top Billboard Global Excl. US Chart
Luminate data for the May 22–28 tracking frame cited by Billboard shows Swim maintaining its hold outside the US with 41.8 million streams (down 8%) and 2,000 copies sold (up 8%). This eighth week at the summit pushes the track past the five-week run of the 2021 song Butter and previous single-week stints of other songs like Take Two (2023), Yet To Come (2022), My Universe with Coldplay (2021), Permission to Dance (2021), and Life Goes On (2020). On the other hand, Tame Impala and JENNIE’s Dracula remained at No. 4 after it peaked at No. 2 on this very chart.

JENNIE, BTS Climb Billboard Charts as Le Sserafim Debuts
Simultaneously, on the Billboard Global 200 chart, BTS’ Swim rebounded from No. 10 to No. 4 after spending four weeks on top in April. Meanwhile, Tame Impala and JENNIE’s Dracula climbed to No. 5 from its No. 13 position. On a separate note, BTS' ARIRANG climbed one spot to No. 9 this week on Billboard 200; this chart notably provides rankings that are only specific to the US. Directly behind BTS is their junior HYBE labelmate LE SSERAFIM, who secured a No. 10 debut on the chart with Pureflow. This showcases how K-pop is dominating the global music environment. Be it newer acts or older, the world is now embracing the genre, elevating it from its niche orientation.
