The first trailer for Gachiakuta season 2 has been released, giving fans an early look at the next chapter of the bones film’s adaptation. The preview debuted through the anime’s official channels on July 29. The release date remains undisclosed.
Gachiakuta season 2 trailer highlights Rudo’s new journey as a Cleaner, featuring returning allies and passing footages of new confrontations that await after the first season finale. It also glimpses fresh character sketches for Rudo's allies including Enjin.
The footage emphasizes the series’ signature graffiti-inspired visual style and fast-paced action. Before its public rollout, the second season's “First Look PV” was first screened at the 2026 Anime Expo and then at Taipei’s 25th Comic Exhibition in July 2026.
Gachiakuta anime follows Kei Urana and graffiti artist Hideyoshi Andou’s manga of the same name. The manga has been serialized in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine since February 2022 and collected in 19 volumes as of July 2026. Gachiakuta’s official website has also unveiled two season 2 special illustrations from the creators.
Gachiakuta season 2 is expected to continue directly from the events of the first season, following Rudo’s journey as he searches for answers about the mysterious floating world above and the Pit. The previous season aired 24 episodes from July 6 to December 22, 2025, adapting roughly till the Heritage Mural Arc, with the concluding chapters awaiting adaptation.
Where to Watch Gachiakuta Season 2
Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream Gachiakuta season 2 internationally, continuing the platform’s rollout of the series across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent, and other territories outside Japan. Additional broadcast details and a premiere window have not yet been announced.
The first season remains available on Crunchyroll, allowing viewers to catch up before the sequel arrives. The platform previously simulcast the anime with multiple language dubs, and similar availability is expected for the new season as well.
Gachiakuta’s Journey Following its First Season
The Gachiakuta season 2 trailer landed amid growing international popularity for the franchise. The anime had a strong showing at the 2026 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, where it collected 16 nominations, including Anime of the Year.
The anime ultimately won three recognitions, including Best New Series. The manga, on the other hand, won in the Shonen category at the 50th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2026. Since April, Gachiakuta manga’s volume 1 has also been a consistent name on Circana BookScan’s Top 20 Adult Graphic Novels list, which ranks comics, manga, and the like published across the U.S., based on their sales.
Studio Bones has also expanded the franchise beyond anime and manga with Gachiakuta The Game, a survival action RPG, unveiled in December 2025. The move mirrors the multimedia strategy observed with other modern franchises like Frieren and Jujutsu Kaisen.
However, whether Gachiakuta’s expanded footprint translates into audience growth and continued popularity will depend on a season that has yet to receive an air date. The first season “took the top spot in Crunchyroll’s July season viewership rankings,” as per one of Gachiakuta’s X posts.
