Crunchyroll is bringing Japanese voice actor Taito Ban, the voice of Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, to Mumbai Comic Con 2026. The convention runs May 9-10 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. The company called it its largest on-ground anime activation in India to date, according to its official press release.

Ban will headline a Solo Leveling panel alongside A-1 Pictures producer Atsushi Kaneko, the studio behind the anime adaptation. The panel is the centrepiece of Crunchyroll's 2026 booth, but the company has also scheduled an expanded slate of performances and a live dubbing session for fans. Solo Leveling remains Crunchyroll's most-watched modern anime, with Season 2 ending earlier in 2025 and no Season 3 announcement yet confirmed.

Mumbai Comic Con 2026 builds on the broader expansion of Comic Con India, which has scaled multi-city events amid rising demand for anime and gaming content. Powered by Maruti Suzuki Arena and Crunchyroll, Comic Con India is a cross-format convention featuring anime, gaming, cosplay, manga, comics, and movies.

Mumbai Comic Con 2026 Program: Solo Leveling Panel, Live Dubbing, and Japanese Performances

Crunchyroll is positioning a live dubbing workshop as the booth's main fan experience. Attendees can record dubbing performances from three Crunchyroll titles, Sentenced to Be a Hero, Fire Force, and Solo Leveling, under professional guidance.

Ban's appearance centres on the Solo Leveling panel on May 9, where he and Kaneko are expected to discuss production details and behind-the-scenes work on the series. The session, hosted by Vijay Vikram Singh, will include a live dubbing segment with Rajesh Shukla, the Hindi voice of Sung Jinwoo.

Crunchyroll is also presenting Japanese singer Hiroshi Kitadani, known for "We Are!," the first opening theme of the One Piece anime, for a live performance on May 9. DJ Kazu, a J-Pop and Anison DJ, returns for the third consecutive year to perform across both days. The Crunchyroll-led programming sits within the wider Comic Con Mumbai floor, which will feature additional panels with national and international creators, immersive installations, and gaming zones.

Solo Leveling's draw in India is significant. The anime debuted on Crunchyroll in January 2024 with a same-day Hindi dub, and the franchise has since expanded into video games, trading cards, and a planned Netflix live-action adaptation.

Fan Activities, Photo Zones, and Exclusive Collectibles at Mumbai Comic Con 2026

The Crunchyroll booth will include a Suzume-themed door installation and a Grand Line photo zone tied to One Piece. Both are positioned as photo opportunities for attendees.

The company will distribute exclusive collectibles to attendees, including Crunchyroll tote bags, My Hero Academia postcards, Solo Leveling posters, Suzume magnets, LED wristbands, balloons, and Ani-May lapel pins. Powerpass holders will receive three additional items: a sticker sheet, a button buddy, and a mobile stand. The booth will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days.

The activation coincides with Ani-May, Crunchyroll's global anime celebration that runs limited-time content and fan experiences across markets. It also arrives as India's pop culture convention circuit shows consistent expansion. Earlier 2026 editions, including Comic Con Pune in March and Comic Con Jaipur in January, have drawn strong attendance with anime-themed installations, manga retail, and active cosplay participation.

India is also emerging as a key growth market for Japanese manga, with publishers and quick-commerce platforms expanding distribution to meet rising demand.
