  • Stray Kids crossed 40.26 million album shipments across South Korea and Japan as of April 2026.
  • The JYP Entertainment group’s album 5-Star sold over 5.3M copies and set a K-pop first-week sales record on its release.
  • The group also achieved eight consecutive No. 1 debuts on the Billboard 200.

Stray Kids have surpassed 40 million total album shipments across South Korea and Japan, according to JYP Entertainment, bolstering the group as one of K-pop’s biggest physical-selling acts of the streaming era. As reported by The Korea Herald, the group logged 40,267,158 total shipments across 28 Korean and Japanese releases as of April 2026.

Stray Kids’ Sales Growth Across Eras

The sales milestone depicts years of growing album demand instead of success of a single release. In South Korea alone, Stray Kids’ discography spans 19 releases, beginning with the 2018 pre-debut project Mixtape and extending through 2025’s DO IT. These two ventures together account` for more than 35.7M shipments. Interestingly, their nine Japanese releases spanning SKZ2020 (2020) to the EP Hollow (2025), contributed another 4.5M units.

Stray Kids’ commercial growth notably intensified further with NOEASY (2021), which became their first double-million certified album. This made the JYP group, top-tier physical sellers of K-pop. Their momentum persisted with ODDINARY (2022), which crossed 2M sales, before MAXIDENT (2022) boosted them to the triple-million tier.

That group’s unit sales trajectory was further bolstered by 5-Star, Stray Kids’ third studio album, which surpassed 5.3M shipments overall. When it was released in 2023, the album set a K-pop first-week sales record at that time. With 4.6M copies of 5-Star sold, the success briefly redefined the commercial ceiling for a single-week album launch in the K-pop industry.

More releases like ROCK-STAR, ATE and KARMA maintained the group’s pace of success rather than slowing it down. ROCK-STAR surpassed 4M shipments, while ATE and KARMA each earned multi-million certifications with the group continuing to expand via its collector-driven sales base throughout global markets.

The Billboard 200 Dominance of Stray Kids

Stray Kids’ physical sales dominance has been mirrored in the United States. In late 2025, DO IT debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, extending the group’s streak to eight consecutive chart-topping entries. Every one of Stray Kids’ first eight appearances on the Billboard 200 debuted at No. 1, with the run spanning releases including ODDINARY, MAXIDENT, ROCK-STAR, ATE, KARMA, and DO IT.

These numbers altogether highlight how K-pop’s deluxe packaging, multiple album versions, and fan-driven collector culture persistently outperforms broader global physical music trends. For Stray Kids, the 40M-mark does not just depict another breakout moment, but a robust catalog. And this catalog has progressively made Stray Kids into one of K-pop’s most commercially dominant forces with strong album runs.
